My recent visit to NOTCH Cafe Bending in Taipei left me with mixed feelings, but overall, it's a noteworthy spot with some standout features.
First and foremost, the prices at NOTCH Cafe were impressively cheap, even for someone like me coming from a country where things are generally more affordable than in Taiwan. The self-service concept was straightforward, and the coffee, especially the iced americano I ordered, was excellent in taste.
The café maintained a clean and well-kept environment, including the restroom – a simple yet crucial detail that enhances the overall customer experience. The barista, who spoke good English, was polite and welcoming, making me feel at ease as a foreign customer. The warm ambiance of the place also adds to its charm, making it a visually appealing spot, perfect for those Instagram-worthy moments.
However, a notable drawback was the inability to connect to the Wi-Fi, especially for someone like me who often relies on it for work with a MacBook. While this might not be an issue for those seeking a cozy spot to unplug and enjoy their coffee, it could be a hindrance for those looking to get some work done.
In summary, NOTCH Cafe Bending offers an excellent coffee experience at a very reasonable price, with a warm atmosphere and courteous service. It's a great place for a casual meet-up or to simply unwind. Just be mindful of the Wi-Fi if you plan to get some work done on...

Worst experience ever in Taiwan.

Female staff who was on service have an extremely bad attitude. When we asked for a extra tray to take our drinks and also cutlery, she gave the impression that it would cost her an arm and a leg just becoz we ask for a tray, 2 fork and 2 spoon. When she wrongly gave us 2 fork and 2 knife instead, I asked again for 2 more spoons, the reluctance and impatience immediately showed on her face; the cutlery was simply dropped onto the plate (short of simply just throwing them in my face) and instructed us to return the cutlery when we leave.
This is the worst service I’m have ever experienced in a “cafe” venue from all my travels.
Spoiled the start of my day for our family.
I would never ever patronize this...
Read moreA rustic cafe nestled in a repurposed space. If you find a space on L2, you’ll observe some old hair dressing and optometry fixtures on the wall. Light music played fits the atmosphere. I drank its hand poured coffee over a few days and really loved the coffee’s smooth flavourful taste. Remember to choose the beans you prefer based on the taste profile featured. My favourites are the Kenya and Gold Top Mendaring beans. Their hand pressed sandwiches are really yummy too. Come on a weekday if you want a quieter space. Found many Taiwanese students studying, especially on L2 on weekends (different vibes). My fav space is actually on L1, where I can sip my coffee, hear the baristas at work and watch the traffic outside, especially on a...
