We went right when they opened at 11 am so there was no wait at all.
You order on the iPad at the table or you’re free to grab what’s on the conveyor belt. The cups for tea are at the way top of the conveyor belt, the saucer and hand wipes are at the front of the restaurant before being sat down.
We really enjoyed the salmon and fatty tuna. We got the wagyu and to our surprise it was cold. I asked the waiter if it’s supposed to be cold and they said yes. The flavor of the meat was pretty good but definitely would have been better if it was freshly torched to make it warm.
We also ordered extra fatty tuna and the cut for that was extremely marbled. But it was also stiff and cold. It definitely would have tasted way better if it was thawed a bit more. I really enjoyed their egg appetizer. It’s extremely hot and silky. There’s lots of ingredients within the egg like mushroom, pork, and others. We also ordered the miso soup with clam but that came out a bit salty. I ordered some tempura and that was extremely fresh and tasty. I just wish it came with the tempura sauce you typically dip in.
To check out, you call the waiter and stack your plates with the same color together. They add up your plates on their gadget and once completed, you take your number to the counter...
Read moreThis is my favorite sushi train chain in Taipei, and honestly, I like this branch the most. It’s spacious and popular, and even though the queue is usually the longest, I think the food quality here is the best. My top picks are the squid and shrimp — always fresh and delicious. The fish can be hit or miss depending on the day and season — sometimes great, sometimes a bit bland or slightly fishy. Salmon and scallop are generally good quality though.
Desserts have never impressed me — they’re overly sweet and not the best quality. But what really surprised me was the shrimp tempura and karaage fried chicken. They’re seriously good, and you can even ask the staff for Japanese mayo to go with it.
Service is just okay since the place is always packed, but they do their best. I highly recommend reserving a spot or queuing through the app in advance. If you walk in during lunch or dinner hours, expect to wait at...
Read moreI dined at Sushiro in Taipei as a solo guest and had a positive experience. Booking a reservation through their app was a smart move, as I was promptly seated upon arrival. The restaurant seemed to attract a significant number of walk-in customers, and I imagine without a reservation, you might have to endure a lengthy wait, possibly up to an hour.
One notable aspect was the language barrier; I only encountered one staff member who could communicate in English, which might pose a challenge for non-Mandarin speakers.
However, the food itself lived up to my expectations. It was remarkably fresh and reminiscent of the Sushiro branch I'd visited in Japan. I particularly enjoyed their guava drink, which was a delightful addition to my meal. If you appreciate authentic Japanese-style sushi and can secure a reservation, Sushiro in Taipei is...
