We were a group of 3 and we decided to get our hair done before leaving for the airport from Taipei Main station (walkable) with no appointment. We were there pretty early so there was no wait and they were able to take all 3 of us. My aunt had a haircut, my hubby had a cut and dye and I had a shampoo. A little background, I actually had my hair done at Seoul (scalp treatment/cut/dye/perm/shampoo) 3 weeks earlier, so this review is more of a comparison of my personal experience and not the treatment between Seoul and A salon (Taipei). A salon is so much better in terms of cost and service for the 3 of us. We paid about $100 for all the services I mentioned among the 3 of us! while I paid over $600US in Seoul (granted for different treatments) just one of me. I had Leo at A salon and he was very informative in giving me tips on how to maintain my hair style. He asked about what services I had done in Seoul and he (and I agree) Korea's hairstyle, although glamours, is hard to maintain. He was not critical but just offered his opinion. My hubby doesn't speak Mandarin (I barely do) but his stylist was able to communicate with him in English. All in all, I would go back again, A salon is very affordable and offer great service and the stylists have good skills. They don't have a strong online presence but they know what they are doing. Also, don't be put off by their "real" video. We also got a coupon for next time with no expiration date. But the boss lady did say those pricing would not apply to Leo since he is a senior hair stylist. I would go back and re-do all my Seoul...
Read moreCalled 20 minutes ahead before coming. Checked the prices. Initially, I only wanted for a hair wash, then eventually went for scalp treatment. The total cost was 1090TWD, then added another 300TWD for haircut.
The lady hairstylist with long hair (ash colour) that did my haircut was nice and suggested a style that is good for me. Even though she can't speak English much, she is able to convey her message through another staff member who could speak English with me.
When I chose the package, the guy who could speak English told me it included upgraded hair treatment, but while I was on the chair and having my hair done, they told me it's not included. So I need to add another 200TWD.
Felt a little bit cheated, but I didn't clarify enough in the beginning and probably lost in translation. So it's better to clarify again and again. Total was around 1600TWD. But overall, I am satisfied with...
Read moreI don’t usually write reviews, but I felt like I had to after the service we got here. Quick story — before finding this place, we tried 5–8 other salons, and either they were fully booked or didn’t take walk-ins. Then we stumbled into Allies Hair Salon.
As soon as we walked in and said we didn’t have a reservation, they were super chill about it and just told us to grab a seat. My girlfriend got the cut, wash, and perm package, and I just went for a cut and wash. Honestly, the head massage alone was worth it.
The service overall was awesome too — they even gave me water and snacks while I waited for my girlfriend to finish her perm. When finished, we both loved the new hairstyle. We ended up paying NTD$4800, which is about $180 Canadian....
