A Comfortable Stay with Great Amenities – But Beware the MosquitoesWe stayed at this relatively new hotel and were impressed with its modern facilities. One of the highlights for us was the 24/7 business centre, which offers complimentary refreshments like soft drinks, tea, chips, and crackers. My son absolutely loved it—it felt like our own little secret spot to unwind after a long day exploring. The location is excellent. There’s a supermarket right across the street and a mall next door with plenty of dining options, a cinema, and more. The hotel also provides a convenient shuttle bus service that connects to the HSR station for easy access to Taipei. The included breakfast was quite good, and since there aren’t many nearby breakfast options, it was definitely a plus. The staff were generally friendly—maybe not quite at a five-star level, but still pleasant and helpful overall. However, the major downside was the mosquito problem. When we checked into our room, we found more than 20 mosquitoes in the room, and they were also present in common areas like the lobby, restaurant, hallways, and business centre. Unfortunately, my son, who is allergic to mosquito bites, was bitten and had a very painful reaction. This was a big disappointment, especially since we weren’t expecting such an issue indoors. We stayed from late May to early June, so perhaps it was seasonal—but we do feel the hotel should take more proactive measures, especially housekeeping, to address this.Despite the mosquito issue, I would still recommend this hotel for a stay in Taoyuan, especially for its location and overall value—just be sure to pack insect repellent if you're visiting during...
Read morePros: it's a pretty new, modern hotel that is near the outlet mall, aquarium, and HRT, not too far from the airport. Buffet was good (a bit pricey), and the breakfast can be a good deal if it's included with your stay. My main reason for not giving 5 stars is due to the obnoxiously rude young man working behind the Cozzi Marketplace counter on new year's day, around 1:20pm. No one was at the hostess stand at the restaurant entrance, so I just wanted to know if we should walk in and find a seat ourselves instead of waiting for a hostess to arrive (that's the norm in the US). This guy snapped, what do you want?! in Chinese and was very condescending and shockingly rude in his demeanor as he responded. I guess I interrupted him from keeping his face in his cellphone, but I maintained a polite tone with this jerk. My sister and I had been previously talking about how polite everyone was in Taiwan during our trip. So I traveled half way around the world to put up with this guy, who shouldn't be working in hospitality if he can't suppress his nastiness. My other minor complaint is that the rooms aren't soundproof. While in the bathroom, I could hear other people's voices and their use of the shower from the room above. Otherwise, my entire extended family was impressed by how new, clean and modern this hotel is (no moldy smells like we experienced at the Grand Hyatt) & enjoyed being so close to restaurants, the mall & aquarium. The other staff I encountered were really nice and helpful-- so thank you to them, especially the men working downstairs who helped with our suitcase and getting a cab to...

Pros: Location is convenient if you want to go to Xpark, outlets or be close to the airport, but not much else in the surrounding area. Breakfast was ok 4/5.
Cons: A few of the staff members were really good, in particular the luggage and concierge but the reception and check-in staff I found were not really helpful. Found them not very customer friendly. Check-in time is late at 4pm. We arrived early in the morning from an overnight flight at 6am and staff weren't really accommodating. One staff member said they could try to accommodate an early check in around 2pm but when I went to ask at 2pm, another lady didn't even check my name and just said it's not ready and you'll probably have to wait till 4pm. The other thing with having check in so late at 4pm is that everyone checks in at the same time and it was a bit chaotic. Same with checkout, everyone was stuck on our level waiting for lifts which were all full. they proudly tell you that the minibar and snacks are free, but the photo shows what was included, a half can of coke and a small tea (and two 18gram tiny packs of chips), for two adults and two children. the room was missing two towels. Called housekeeping who said they would bring them in 20-30 minutes. Never came. the toilet flush was a bit weak. carpets in the room were dirty.
Overall it was ok, just don't feel like it's great value...
