Absolutely Horrendous Experience – Avoid at All Costs!”

Please read the bad reviews before booking as our experience was a nightmare, just like other reviews as well. We booked our stay SIX MONTHS in advance through their official website, only to be informed—only because WE reached out with a question about the room—that they had no room for us. Yes, FIVE DAYS before our arrival, and during New Year’s Eve, they casually let us know that they had no record of our reservation and no available rooms. Had we not contacted them, we wouldn’t have even known until we showed up!

The lack of professionalism and accountability is astounding. They made no effort to resolve the situation, offered no apology, and left us scrambling to find alternative accommodations at the last minute. Anyone familiar with Zanzibar, Nungwi knows this is not only incredibly stressful but also ridiculously expensive during peak season—and for it to happen over New Year’s Eve made it even worse.

This hotel clearly doesn’t care about its guests or honoring its commitments. If you’re considering booking here, think twice. There’s a high chance you’ll end up abandoned and scrambling like we and others were already. Blue Tides Nungwi is unreliable, irresponsible, and downright disgraceful.

Save yourself the stress and choose a hotel that actually honors its bookings and...

Review of Blue Tides Hotel

Blue Tides Hotel is a charming property located right next to one of the best beaches in Zanzibar. The beach is a major highlight, as it’s less affected by tides compared to many others in the area, making it a great spot for relaxing or taking a swim. While the beach is relatively clean, there are some seaweeds, but nothing too bothersome.

The hotel is situated in a lively location with plenty to explore nearby. There are shops, souvenir stores, a local market, and even a liquor shop within walking distance, which adds to the convenience and vibrancy of the area.

The staff at Blue Tides Hotel are incredibly friendly and provide good service, making you feel welcome throughout your stay. The in-house restaurant serves delicious food, with breakfast being a highlight — a nice start to the day with a good variety on offer.

The rooms are decent, offering basic amenities, but the washrooms could use an upgrade to enhance the overall comfort. Despite this, the experience is pleasant, thanks to the overall ambiance and the attentive service.

If you’re looking for a lively beachfront location with access to good food and friendly service, Blue Tides Hotel is a solid choice. While there’s room for improvement in certain areas, the overall experience is enjoyable and worth...

Our stay at Blue Tides Hotel and Restaurant was exceptional in every aspect. From the huge room and washroom with a breath taking views of the ocean to the warm hospitality of the staff, we couldn't have asked for more. Mr. Sanket, Mr. Binny, Mr. Sachin and Mr.Salum went above and beyond to cater for our every request from extra towels to hot milk for our children. Their food was also fresh and very delicious. The hotel itself is undergoing renovations so they are still gradually improving their facilities. The breakfast menu was a little limited but they tried to compensate by offering other items. While we were there one of the guests was celebrating their birthday and had arranged a bonfire, a maasai dance, acrobats and African drummers so it was a great entertainment for all and also a good place for such celebrations with intimate family. All in all this was a fantastic vacation location in Nungwi and we would definitely go back in...
