Hi Zanzibar Villa & Rooftop — Hotel in Unguja

this accommodation is perfect for a stay in paje. The wonderful owners welcomed us and showed us around the hotel. The breakfast is just great. fresh fruits good coffee fresh juices omlett fried eggs and various side dishes are available. the beautiful rooms are on the first two floors, the restaurant is on the third floor and there is also a rooftop bar. we stayed in this accommodation for 3 nights and loved it. We ate in the restaurant on 2 evenings and the food was fresh and extremely delicious. There was fresh fish, curry, noodles, and typical local cuisine. The highlight for us was the rooftop bar. It‘s called hi skybar and is the highest point in paje. You have a great view over paje and the ocean. We enjoyed the sunset in the rooftop pool here every evening. Well-kept structure about 100-150 meters from the sea. Ground and first-floor rooms with no sea view (they claimed a newly built structure in front, but it was evidently untrue). Small rooms with no storage space, but sufficient for a few days. Unfortunately, we woke up to 1 cm of water after rain overnight. Bathroom with combined toilet and shower, poorly functioning shower drain. Weak and unreliable Wi-Fi. A noisy generator in front of the building. The restaurant on the second floor serves a pleasant breakfast (if the generator is off). The third floor has a terrace with a cocktail bar, tables, and a well-maintained, refreshing pool. They also have a partnership with a nearby hotel for massages at very advantageous prices (half the cost of the hotel's clients) with two skilled masseuses. The room on the base floor did not had WiFi and 0 signal, so basically we could not communicate with no one! At 3am a drunk guy was hitting the room and screaming outside! A few ppl working there are actually great but regarding the bookings and payments no one knew how to see our booking so we spend half an hour going up and down the building with our luggage. Finally, there is a construction site next to the hotel which was not mentioned (20 men checking on you every day is not nice). The location is good.
