Kendwa Breeze Bungalows — Hotel in Unguja

There probably isn’t a rating scale high enough to evaluate this hotel. 😊 We stayed there from the 5th to the 15th of September. It was the most wonderful accommodation we’ve ever stayed in. We felt like we had come to visit family for a vacation. The atmosphere was relaxed and homey. We were welcomed by Scooby – the chill dog. Such a sweet dog, she came every time over for pets and cuddles.

From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were at home. Elisabeth and Alex, the incredible owners, are the nicest and most welcoming hosts we have ever met. Their warmth and attention to detail truly set this place apart. The entire staff is just as amazing – friendly, helpful, and always with a smile.

The rooms are tastefully decorated, blending comfort with an authentic Zanzibari vibe. Every corner of Kendwa Breeze feels like a hidden oasis of paradise. The lush garden, filled with tropical plants, adds to the sense of tranquility.

Breakfast here is an experience in itself – fresh, delicious, and with the best coffee we had in Zanzibar. Starting the day by the pool with that rich coffee and tasty food was pure bliss. The pool area is stunning, and the sunbeds are so comfortable that some days we didn’t even make it to the beach – the poolside atmosphere was just too perfect to leave.

One of the highlights of our stay was Scoby, the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet. He’s like part of the family and makes the place feel even more like home.

Kendwa Breeze Bungalows is more than just a place to stay – it’s an experience that stays with you. We left with unforgettable memories and a desire to return as soon as possible. If you’re visiting Kendwa, don’t think twice – this is the place to be!

Staying at Kendwa Breeze Bungalows was one of the most wonderful experiences during my multiple visits to Zanzibar. The bungalows are spotlessly clean, functional, decorated very tastefully in an African style, as is the entire environment. The whole atmosphere is very positive and relaxing, so you will definitely recharge your batteries there and feel like home, during all your stay. The breakfast is very varied and delicious, the ingredients are always fresh and carefully combined. The pool is also spotlessly clean. The location is excellent, you only have a short walk to the beach through the picturesque part of Kendwa and that walk was certainly an opportunity for me to get to know the local people, their life and customs every day. Special words of praise to the lovely owners Elisabeth and Alex, who are the best hosts ever, very hospitable, full of positive energy, always there for a smile and any help you need. It was not easy to leave, but a piece of my heart remained there forever.
