Our stay at Mlango Paje House & Villa in Zanzibar was absolutely magical! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles and exceptional hospitality that set the tone for an unforgettable experience.

The property is stunning, with beautifully designed villas that perfectly blend luxury and the natural beauty of Zanzibar. The rooms were spacious, immaculately clean, and tastefully decorated, offering a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The attention to detail in every corner of the property was impressive, from the lush gardens to the inviting pool area.

One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Whether it was helping us arrange activities, recommending local spots to visit, or serving delicious meals, their dedication and friendliness truly stood out.

The location of Mlango Paje is perfect—just a short stroll from the pristine white-sand beach and crystal-clear waters that Zanzibar is famous for. We enjoyed peaceful mornings by the ocean and vibrant evenings exploring the nearby restaurants and shops.

The place is super pretty and they have the best pool. It’s small, but nice. We stayed in the top rooms first with a super nice balcony, but since there was no ac it was quite warm in the night.

The rooms are quite pretty and well decorated, a few improvements: I missed a few lamps in the rooms as there’s in only one source of light and it gets quite dark. They could add hand towels in the bathroom. We only had 2 thin bed sheets, so add a blanket in case we need it. Once we moved to a room with AC we missed it. We stayed there for 4-5 nights and we didn’t get the room cleaned once. The mosquito nets needs improvement, they are too small, it hangs on top of us during the night. Since there are 2 houses it is quite hard to find someone when we need them. There’s a WhatsApp number on the apartments for the manager but you text and nobody answers, so add a number of someone that is there and available if you can’t keep someone near all the time. Initially we were there alone so it was great, when other guests arrived we noticed how much you can listen from other places. The WiFi was not good.

Mlango Paje Villa is a true hidden gem.

The hotel-manager Zaineb and her lovely sisters welcomed me and I immediately felt at home. The whole hotel looks so perfect en they payed attention to every little detail.

Overall cleanliness was also good.

Also the location is perfect, not too busy directly at the beach but just 80 meters away from it.

The only downside is that a lot of rooms have an open rooftop in their bathrooms made of some hay-like material. This makes some rooms quite noisy.

Breakfast was great. They had an international breakfast and they tried to make it as healthy as possible with a lot of vegetables and fruits. One eats breakfast in the common garden and this gives a perfect opportunity to connect with the other guests.
