We stayed in Nakupenda Villa paje in January 13/17,we were a group of 10 people in total.|| The place it’s nice, not very near to the beach (maybe 10/15 minutes walking),as there is no direct way to Paje beach so you need to walk between local houses. First place where the rooms were having only mosquito nets no glass was present for windows...this allowed the wind or any sound from outside will be heard in the room.|| The guest was nice(Rachael),decent breakfast for this price.|| ||The thing that ruined our vacation was the fact that we got robbed in this property (someone broke in one room while our friends were sleeping).Personal items were stolen including 2 phones some shoes a backpack that was including some money as well.|| The event was reported to police but in the end nothing could be recovered....no cameras were in the property and the guards (masay guy and the dog in the property) didn’t heard any noise that night.|| The property didn’t provided much support (language barrier)when talking with police and always they were the ones talking with local authorities in swahili(local language besides tanzanian).|| Strange or not one of the phones had some attempts to be activated (as it’s Iphone and location was sent to email),in the same day when the Owner of the place went to another city in tanzania (dar al salam),this might be only a small correlation but for us that was very very strange coordination.|| If you will stay in the property in the ground floor rooms make sure you check the latching sistem of windows it’s on(locked),for us all the rooms had at least one window opened...suspicious or not as well.I cannot say someone from the property was involved in this shameful event but we didn’t saw much of an effort in trying to help us recovering our items, and the property was not willing to contact their...
Read moreMy stay at Nakupenda was short. I was planning to stay for two nights but didn’t feel enough confortable to stay for the planned duration. We left after one night for the cons I’ll mention.
Pros:
1)The place is nice for the price. 2) It is located in the center of Paje, you can reach the beach the beach by walk in 10/15 minutes. 3) It has a swimming pool and a breakfast included. 4) Breakfast was good, I found the same in more expensive hotels 5) the manager who welcomed us was kind and helpful
Cons :
there is no window… only mosquitos nets everywhere with holes. It is sooooo noisy. From night to morning we heard something, it was impossible to sleep properly. One drunk girl knocked at our bedroom’s door from the outside insisting to enter bc she thought it was her room. It killed my night.
The system to enter the place is so bad. You cannot enter with a key or a badge but you need to ring the bell or knock at the door until someone is coming no matter the hour. We came to the hotel around 00:30 and the security fall asleep on one of the bed next to swimming pool. Since there are parties everyday in Paje, other people came to the hotel very late and all this process was so noisy. It is also very sad to make this security guard open the gate all night. Would be better to give some autonomy to the customers.
the bathroom was not looking...
I have spent 6 wonderful nights in here. The rooms are very spacious, shower is very nice and the cleaners keep them exceptionally clean every day. They have a fan on the bed, multiple plugs (G type) and a mosquito net. Laundry service is available too with very competitive prices.
Breakfast was amazing, I really recommend to enjoy it. It was served from 8 till 10 but if you have to go earlier you just need to let them now. They also have a common fridge which I found very helpful.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Special mention to Ibrahim & Risy.
The location is close to everything you need (souvenirs, mini market, pharmacy, ATM, beach clubs even a hospital clinic!) and you have taxis on the main road.
Thanks for being part of an...
