The Oasis Beach inn is the right place to go if you want to experience the warm welcoming touch of Tanzanian culture, together with the amazing beach of Jambiani and the best price of the east coast. |Do not go if you look for a fancy hotel with swimming pool, generator and international haute cuisine. It can happen that the electricity is off for few hours and there is no hot shower.||Aji (the manager) and Mr. Busara (the owner) are there to welcome you since the first moment you step in. They are really kind and available if you need any help and.... do not use mzungu prices for tourists. ||How to get there: dalla dalla from stone town or taxi. On the main road you will see a white signal "oasis beach in", you can ask the driver to stop there. Very easy to find!|Free space for parking inside if you have your own car. ||Rooms: there are seven bungalows and more will be built in the near future. The 2 main bungalows are directly on the seafront: the sea is 5 meters from your room during high tide hours. |The rooms are big, clean, safe and with privative bathroom. There is a fan and windows so that you cannot suffer from the heat, but no AC. Though the bungalows are quite close to each other the trees of the garden guarantee your own privacy and some shadow. Most of the bungalows have also a private little terrace..! It is amazing to watch the sunrise from your own room. ||Food: in the middle of the Oasis Beach inn there is a nice common space where your breakfast is served and you can order lunch or dinner too. Breakfast is included in the price of the room. The food is very tasty and fresh, mainly from the sea. The cook takes its time to prepare it, in a proper Tanzanian way. Ask for your dinner at 7h if you want to eat at 8! With 15 USD you get a complete fish dinner for two persons.||Outdoor spaces: you can sunbath yourself in front of the beach eating on one of the chairs and mattresses the hotel put at your disposal everyday without any extra charge. ||Not perfect but definitely the best value for money place on...
Read moreI did not stay here out of choice and wouldn’t return ever again. I booked to stay in the neighbouring property who had over booked and made me stay here based on ‘equivalent standard’ rooms. ||||The rooms were dark and bathrooms dirty, very lacking in any facilities at all. The bedroom had a concrete floor painted in brown and one bare lightbulb on the wall. No hooks for the shutters so these constantly blew shut. Totally lacking in any basics, no bottled water/soap/hand towel/bath mat/reading lamp/bedside table. Room very stuffy at night. No WiFi available anywhere on the property. ||||I couldn’t guarantee the bathroom had been cleaned, the previous guests cotton buds were still on top of the ledge and the taps were covered in rust and limescale. The bottom of the toilet was filthy and the shower tap constantly dripped. ||||Room wasn’t made up or cleaned during my stay, sand gets everywhere and needed sweeping out. Clean towels or toilet paper not replenished. ||||The view couldn’t be enjoyed as the bungalows are sideways on so the patio just faced the restaurant and you couldn’t take advantage of the outlook as the shutters blocked this. No direct access from patio onto beach, don’t expect to wake up to a sea view, window positioning doesn’t for this. ||||This is a backpackers level of accommodation and not worth more than $10 a...

Also does amazing veg vurry and pastas using local veg and spices. We ended up eating here several nights on the trot. On the last night, David brought us 2 lobster tails for free to say 'thank you' for eating at his place!||||Great place to eat... We just couldn't work out why hardly anyone else was eating here! Very laid back vibe, fab views... We love this place! If you are in Jambiani...
