Please give this place a chance, this was the tastiest local cuisine we had in Jambiani! Came here on a quiet Tuesday night and we were the only ones there. As soon as we sat down the team turned up the music, put some mood lighting on and greeted us with warm smiles. Our prawns dish and seafood plate were super tasty and fresh. We even got some free cassava crisps to start and banana as a dessert. Sure you don't have the seafront like at all the big resorts along the beach - instead you are supporting local families and get the most authentic Zanzibar dinner with the friendliest service and good prices.

We saw the good reviews of this restaurant and we wanted to eat there but we couldn't find it at its original location - as we got to know, some Europeans bought the building and they had to move. We didn't give up though and we located it at the end about 1 km south from its previous spot - there is a sign for it on the beach (between Alibi's Well and Blue Oyster). It was really worth it as the place is authentic and chilled (meaning: a little slow, but we didn't mind). The food we ordered was freshly made and really tasty. I would absolutely go back to eat there. The waiter was smiley and laid back.

Located in the heart of Jambiani about 100 yards back from the beach, this little gem has great food and great ambience. The manager/chef/Rasta is hilarious and relies on his mama’s recipes to make amazing food. Try the fish, curry or fish curry for a truly authentic Zanzibar experience - just remember to remove the cinnamon sticks 😉 Another benefit is that it is great value for money; plus you’ll be supporting local Zanzibar business by not eating at your resort (most of which are owned by foreigners). Karibuni! (He teaches you some Swahili words when you order your food).

We loved our dinner here tonight. The guys were so friendly and brought us cassava chips for an appetizer while we waited for our dinners. Our kids raved about the calamari and french fries. My husband and i had lemon butter fish and foil wrapped fish both were excellent. The fish came with sautéed veggies served with Zanzibar spices and a heaping pile of rice. For dessert they brought us fresh bananas and alcohol to have a free shot with. We can’t say enough good things about this restaurant, you must try it. We brought cards to play while we waited for our food, which might be a good idea since great...
