MD Boutique Hotel — Hotel in Chiang Mai Province

I'm a little shocked by the reviews and people knocking this place. Maybe some people don't know what to expect in Chiang Mai. If you wanted the nicest most modern hotel, you aren't going to get it for this price. If you paid a little less, then you'd get a smaller room and/or a smaller bathroom. If you paid more, you'd get more. Anyways, Chiang Mai is not a place where you want to spend all your time in the hotel room. The city itself is a very relaxing place and you will probably not spend much time at the hotel. This place was fantastic for the price. Great location, large rooms for all our luggage, a big bathroom. They would clean every day and bring you more water if you want. And it has an elevator - which we really appreciated since we had a ton of luggage. The staff was perfectly helpful but I think people misunderstand "not friendly" and "is not fluent in English" ... This was an unexpected booking but was a very pleasant surprise. We had originally booked a different hotel but then they messed up our reservations so we decided that the nearest and most available hotel was MD Boutique. We couldn’t have chosen a better random accommodation as it was conveniently located along the main road. While it didn’t have a lot of local places to eat, there’s a 7-11 right across and it’s near enough to the walls that when you step out past the gates, there’s enough local food to keep you satisfied. The staff is helpful as they helped us print some stuff free of charge. But the highlight should be the room. Stayed here for a week and had a pleasant time. The staff is very friendly and the service is great. Kai at the reception was awesome. The rooms are nice and big, there's a mirror outside and inside the bathroom which is nice. The AC works great and the water in the shower is nice and hot. The only issues were that there was nowhere to hang stuff in the bathroom and there was very little counter space in there. The walls of the room are thin and you can hear other people if they are loud. Also the beds are on wheels and they move easily. There's only one outlet at the bed all the way on the side.
