It's a pretty cool nightlife spot, an alternative to hanging out in raunch Loi Kroh or Northgate Jazz Cafe where it is so crowded you have to stand ouside in the street. You could also try local Thai establisment such as Differs, Warm Up, Tawandang, Tha Chang, etc but I found those places boring and felt alienated unless you have a bunch of Thai friends going with you. Anyway, keep in mind most Thai girls you see in this complex, both in and out of bars, are there to work and make money. They are not really there to party like the rest of us. Too easy if you are willing to keep them gainfully employed, Get my drift? I used to wonder why my Thai GF and her friends would never come here with me. LOL. I don't care I come alone. Some words of warning. Don't get in a confrontation with the security staff NO MATTER WHAT. They will be more than happy to demonstrate their muai thai skills and it is not going to be pretty. Keep a very close eye on your drink. Lastly, stay away from drivers waiting ouside, flashing photos of girls and offering to take you to a special club. You could end up in a...
Read moreWhile I seriously dislike Zoe in Yellow for music, ppl and lack of style - it was a great surprise to find this little jem hidden right next to it. Stylish interior, relaxed music, excellent cocktails, lounge-y setting... It gives you all you need to hide behind small windows, sip a cocktail, chill to easy tunes while you watch & gossip about the sleeveless shirt backpackers on a shoestring beer jerking around to Western upcountry city disco sounds. This bar feels like a safe haven, a decent cocoon floating in a sea of, well, some lower level madness. Will definitely be back once im ready to crack some more jokes about the nightlife outside there. Apologies to the owner, who is the same one for ZiY as well as for the cocktail bar. Can't make everyone happy. But hellyeah, you did great with the cocktail bar! Love it. Oh, and the cocktail that won me over was the Thai Negroni. Quite an interesting twist and range of flavors that keep developing long after you...
Read moreHang out here twice. If you’re looking to sit down in the bar and listen to the DJ play music then go just before 11pm. It gets pretty busy after 11pm and there’s almost no room to dance.
This place is pretty big. You have two Zoe in Yellow bars one across the other. They both play good music and there’s always people on the dance floor.
The drinks look amazing! Normally I only order Gin Tonic but I tried the Zombie shot with Nat a guy who was also there chilling.
Around the corner you also have other bars. All of them playing different types of music. There’s also a food outdoor market where you can sit and eat too. It’s quite nice. I ate there each time I went. The food is great and the prices pretty cheap.
Zoe in Yellow is a cool place to meet people. Every foreigner I met was friendly and had some interesting conversations. If I’m back in Chiang Mai I’ll definitely check this...
