I booked a stay here fairly last minute; less than a week before arriving. Tired of staying in hostel dorms I was looking for a private, clean, cheap place to stay close to the beach away from busier areas. This worked perfectly for me! ||||The room was a bit different than anything I was used to. I went up a flight of stairs and my door was a sliding patio door with a curtain. I had to go outside onto the patio to reach the bathroom. Previous reviews are right that there was not much hot water, but it didn't bother me because it was so hot the cool water was nice after a day at the beach. ||||I had no housekeeping during my stay which suited me fine. I may have missed a note to put on the door for this but it never bothered me and I actually preferred it. I did have to go to reception for more toilet paper once but that was not a problem.||||You can book tours at the front desk and scooters. I had two snorkel trips arranged for me, tried out a scooter for a day, and even had a return shuttle booked to get me back to the airport much cheaper than I paid to get to the island. I was even encouraged to take a much later shuttle than I intended to take as the person at reception was confident I didn't need to leave that early to get back to the airport, which saved me a lot of time sitting around waiting for my flight. ||||And the location can't be beat for the small price you pay! Marina Hut is located just across the road from the beach. You have your feet in the sand within minutes of leaving your room. And I say minutes only because you may need to wait for a scooter or two before crossing the road. You can get a massage on the beach at the place across the road, and dinner watching the sunset. There were enough places to go for meals or supplies within walking distance, including a 7/11, while still having a very quiet beach experience. ||||For a cheap, clean and convenient place to stay this is perfect and I wouldn't hesitate to...
Read moreWe had a great stay overall! The location was absolutely perfect, making it easy to explore the area. One of the biggest highlights was the manager, she was an angel, always available to help and genuinely doing everything possible to make our stay enjoyable.
We did have a small issue with water leaking from the roof, but she was very proactive, ensuring the roof was cleaned to prevent it from happening again. Unfortunately, the issue persisted, so we had to switch rooms. She kindly upgraded us for the last 2-3 nights, and the new room on the second floor was so much better, more spacious and filled with natural light! But there were nothing to put our clothes in or on. No wardrobe or desk
That being said, the cheaper rooms on the first floor are quite dark and donât have much storage space, just three hangers on a curtain rod. Since we stayed for two weeks, we found it a bit inconvenient to keep all our belongings in our backpacks on the floor. This setup might be more suited for short-term stays or backpackers. VERY IMPORTANT The wifi didn't allow us to watch Netflix in the room and the TV was not working.. The Wifi was really weak.
On the bright side, the AC worked perfectly, and the food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious! We ate there many times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and everything we tried was amazing.
One thing to note: if you're booking through Agoda, the listing gives the option to choose between one or two beds, but there are only large single beds available, which were very comfortable!
Overall, despite some minor inconveniences, we really appreciated the hospitality and the effort the owner put into making sure we were happy. Would definitely recommend this place for its location, great food, and...
Read moreI'm really confused about the great reviews for this place! ||Firstly I understand this is budget accommodation. However I have stayed in budget accommodation throughout Asia. So I do not have 5* expectations and often expect thin walls and hard beds - no biggy!||I'll start with the positives:||Cheap! Definitely budget end for this area||Mini fridge in room with 2x bottles free water ||Right opposite klong nin beach ||Air con and balcony options available ||Bedroom was clean ||Now to the negatives, which meant we actually left earlier than anticipated:||The bathroom! We had a balcony room and you had to go outside to the balcony to get to the bathroom. Not ideal and not advertised but not the end of the world. Unfortunately the bathroom was very dirty; cobwebs and grime. I don't care if you're budget accommodation, there's no excuse for basic cleanliness. ||Bin in bathroom not taken out despite leaving the "clean" sign outside". Again, bathroom bins are emptied usually every 1-2 days in budget accommodation we've stayed in. Also due to the location of the bathroom it got swelteringly hot in there, resulting in a pretty vile smell...||Taxi/tuk tuk booking we tried to make with the owner was almost double the price you get everywhere else! Not v.helpful especially as we're guests. Made us feel unwelcome. ||Overall the place had a weird vibe. Owners weren't hugely friendly, surroundings were treated like a rubbish tip and rooms felt claustrophobic. ||Definitely has potential, I hope the owners make an effort in getting the...
