My boyfriend and I have been traveling across the world for the last 7 months. We have been in some pretty rural areas and sometimes it can be very exhausting. |After leaving the heatwave in Chiang Mai, I was really looking forward to chilling hard and keeping cool in the AC. |We read the reviews and this place looked pretty nice even though it was priced higher than a lot of the other hotels around.|We checked in and there was seemingly nobody else staying there. The driver dropped us at the end of the rocky road because it was under construction, and we walked into a sort of ghost town. We checked into our room and noticed the bathroom had such a strong smell of body odor. We went to lunch on the beach across the beach and decided to come back and see if we could switch rooms.||They said okay, so we moved across the hall and we were fine with that. We went in the pool and I was excited for the pool bar and restaurant I had read about having fresh fruit, since there were no stores or restaurants close by other than the one beach shack serving Thai food across the street.|The woman at reception chatted with her colleague and they said, “sorry, restaurant is closed because no one is really staying here.” .......that’s odd because I’m pretty sure we just paid $175 to stay here for 6 nights expecting to be able to have fruit and coffee and breakfast etc. (not included in price of room)|The receptionist and assumedly manager and their family then enjoyed a nice dinner in the “lobby” area after telling us that the kitchen was closed. ||We take a 100 baht tuk tuk to dinner because it’s 98 degrees out and a 15 min walk to the main area, and we come back to a sort of warm room where I proceeded to sweat alive due to a non- properly functioning AC unit. In the morning I made the executive decision to ask for a refund and go elsewhere, a place on the beach for less money with a restaurant and working AC. ||Usually I don’t leave reviews like this after the nice gesture of being refunded, but I think for this location and the price that there needs to be a serious change and remodel on the hotel and the...
Read moreWe originally planned to have a poolside room, however, due to unforeseen circumstances, the preferred room wasn’t available on the day we arrived. The hotel has 4 ‘cottage’s’ at the back (not advertised on website) and we were offered one of these with the option of moving to the poolside room the following day. After a really good nights sleep we decided to stay in the cottage room as it was really quiet and had a great shower, and it was only a quick walk to the pool. We stayed for 16 nights and made use of the swimming pool daily. The hotel offers breakfast / drinks and snacks etc, but as we were visiting family locally. we didn’t try the food here, but it looked good. The staff were lovely and the hotel and grounds were kept clean and tidy. Fresh bottles of water were provided daily and the fridge in the room was handy. Once we’d worked out how to adjust the air conditioning so it was silent at night everything was fine. It’s a 10 min walk to the beach (walk to top of the road, cross the main road, then walk through the resort) where we saw some amazing sunsets. Will be looking to book a stay here again next time. Recommend this as a great...
Read moreI would give this hotel 3 stars. The location is very nice, green and quiet, the room was new and clean (we had one of the new ones, the M1) but they are quite spartan when it comes to the amenities, even about things that don't cost practically anything. For example, there is no hand soap, only one towel per person (how is someone supposed to dry their hair or wash their face?), no lamp/bedside table to put small stuff. The most important thing is that there is no hanging rope or anything to dry your swimsuit or towels after going to the beach (how is it possible to introduce yourself as beach hotel and not having any of that is truly beyond me, zero common sense). When I told them about the soap and the hanging rope, they didn't seem to care, they just told me that they don't provide it. We were very lucky to have had amazing neighbours next to us who got the rope for us, because we went to 4 different stores and couldn't find it. Breakfast was also pricey, we went only once and then we were having breakfast only at Captain bakery, 5 mins on foot away from the hotel. Overall, it's kinda inadequate, I don't think I...
