Came here with high expectations based on ratings and latte art photos. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The cappuccinos were served far too hot - cups were almost untouchable, and I burned my tongue on the first sip despite waiting. After mentioning this to the staff, they remade the drinks, but the result was the same - mine was still undrinkably hot.
The cappuccinos are served with an excessive amount of milk foam, which isn’t the style we were expecting. The waiter explained they only pour latte art on cafe lattes, which felt misleading given the photos we’d seen. Service also felt rushed, as the waiter walked away mid-conversation to attend to other customers.
Later, I noticed the person at the next table had ordered black coffee, which also seemed far too hot. This suggests the issue might be with overly hot espresso rather than just the milk preparation.
That said, the coffee itself tasted pretty good once it had cooled down, which makes the situation even more frustrating. I imagine their cold coffee drinks are very good, as overheating wouldn’t be an issue there.
I can’t comment on the food since we only came for coffee, but the cafe seems popular, so it’s probably good.
In the end, they didn’t charge us for the drinks, which was really nice of them and much appreciated.
Also the communication with the cafe has been very quick afterwards. Thank you for that!
For coffee lovers: If you’re looking for better-prepared (hot) coffee or if you’re expecting a wet cappuccino, do your research, as there’s another cafe nearby that can serve you that (though at a higher cost). This will save you from disappointment when expectations...
Read moreWhen you're heading out for food in Lanta it's wise to have a backup plan. We were aiming for a Middle-Eastern breakfast at a nearby certain nearby café on this hot, dusty Sunday morning, but, as luck would have it, they were closed. So, that's how we ended up at Together.
The café is a hit with tourists, bustling with Europeans - so much so that I think there was only one seat left outside. Despite the busyness, the lovely staff members were diligent and competent, and a menu was promptly provided. After a perfectly timed wait a staff member re-emerged to take our order. it sounds weird but sometimes in busy places like this there can be a lot of sitting around waiting.
But no! Everything went so refreshingly smoothly. There's was even some minor east-meets-west moments that we love, like should there be parsley on the yogurt - definitely seems like an odd choice. The coffee, though not bad, certainly wasn't great and was a bit challenging to finish. I'm not sure if we'll be back, but I can definitely see why others love it...
Read moreI've eaten here 4 times already, twice for breakfast and twice for dinner. The pancakes may actually be the literal best I've ever had in my life, and I've had a lot of pancakes from all across the world in many styles. Like, a lot. Just finished the massaman curry soup and it was truly incredible. Felt very customized to the Western palette, but in this case that was a good thing and was done absolutely perfectly. First night here I had the pasta carbonara, and that was the reason I began coming back! And I came through Rome on my way here, so I have some experience with quality carbonara. 🙂 To top it all off, the staff are just wonderful as well. And I can't help but notice there are regulars around here, which is impressive for the place considering they only opened a couple of months ago! Tomorrow I resume Muay Thai training, so I will have to cut back on the pancakes, but you will still see my around here quite frequently for the next three weeks before I head home. 🙂...
