I hate reading essays and novels on TripAdvisor it was either good or bad... cutting to the point.

I thought by going to Koh Phangan it would be a busy, packed over the top island, part of me was slightly dreading it. Yeaaa I like a few drinks but not to the point like it's an on going party festival every night. 😇 This resort was nothing what I expected.😅

This cabin beach resort was indeed excellent. And a pure luxury.😍 The room spotless clean. The room was huge. Bed cosy and decorated beautiful as it was for a birthday request. Staff are incredible and so friendly. This resort is out of the way. completely quiet. Relaxing,😎 Private beach for Cabin resort customers. 💯 We had our own private pool. Beach view.😊 Beach was 60 seconds away. Hammock / swings all around. Room A3 I would 100% recommend as it's up on a height so nobody can see into the pool area. The hotel does complimentary escorts to anywhere you want to go. (One way in to town - It's a huge comfortable spacious jeep) the guys working the jeep are amazing I was so tired one night he brought us to the supermarket and waited and escorted us home😁. (That usually doesn't happen but was so grateful) Free wifi. Smart tv's Lots of English movie channels. NETFLIX.🤣 Room service. Bar 24/7 Huge bathroom. Waterfall shower. Pure bliss.

The only thing I suppose I could fault... the breakfast part. 😫 Wow.......👀 You get vouchers show on arrival. Very busy. Over packed. You've to walk up along the beach and look for the 'Coco hut restaurant' there is no signs to help point out the exact location of the restaurant. 😒I found is extremely busy as it's shared with another hotel they also own 'Cocohut beach resort'. The staff seemed stressed out, annoyed and lots of breakfast equipment was running low, the breakfast chef was yelling at customers to wait (Very unprofessional, during busy immense pressure taking it out on customers isn't exactly the way forward).🤔👊🏻

When checking in to the resort, the older lady who was serving us said "Honeymoon? I was expecting a man and woman"! 👀😠 so I'm guessing she must have never met a gay/lesbian couple before? 🏳️‍🌈 Again I thought this was so disreputable, unprofessional travelling the whole of Thailand in and out of many resorts I've never had this stated to me. In all the resorts we've had amazing warm welcomes with open arms. 🇹🇭👌🏻It's 2018, race, colour, sexuality shouldn't be a factor in this era. And especially not on arrival just checking in, or anytime for that matter.👊🏻👊🏻 So for that I'd give this hotel 9/10 Definitely recommend.

As I looked around the area they are going to do major works on site. I'm just glad we got...

My review is devided. We booked the Seaside Delux loft for 4 nights, on their website the description stats it has beach view, however we got 2 buildings and a trees view which was very upsetting. Also in the gallery the rooms look bright, what they do not show and specify is that you have to keep the curtains open during the day to have light, and put a show for all the guests lol. In reality the room is extremly dark inside with very little lights, so if curtains are shot or during the evening and night the room feels very claustrophobic. The metal bars design doesn't help the freedom feeling either, it kinda of feels like a fancy prison cell. The location of the hotel is secluded and feels empty almost all the time, so of you are looking for good vibes, interesting people or eat something past 8 pm, this place isn't for you. The bellboys and resturant staff were very nice, and also one lady in the reception. However, when we came to complain about the non-beach view room we have received another lady at the reception who claim to be the manager didn't take responsibility for the mistake, she said that there is nothing that can be done, and if we want we can cancel our order and go somewhere else. Would be a nice offer, accept you do not offer it to a customer in the hottest season on the island, who booked and paid for the room in advance, m I suppose to go and sleep in the street? (And believe me, we tried looking for another nice hotel on the island, but everything was fully booked accept for some cheap hotels). The hotel is on the beach, and a beautiful one at that, so of you are looking for a quit, sun bathing vacation you might enjoy it. On the last night we switched room to the Seaview Pool Nest room. Now this room is much bigger, brighter with an actual seaview, however for its price I'm sure you can find something better on the island. Internet: phone reception is low at the hotel area, and the wifi of the hotel is very poor and laggy. We couldn't search for things to do whike we were at the hotel. Breakfast: the breakfast is repeatable and ok all over. There are many bugs flying around the fruits and sweets area and they do not cover them like some other hotels do. Not sure what breakfast hours are, but once we came at 8:00 and not all the food was prepared andomlet station still closed. For an early bird person like me who wanna eat early and start traveling that's a big downside. All over, I would recommand to try and find another hotel which actually...

Not recommended at all!!

This was the sixth hotel we stayed at in Thailand, and the value for money is the worst we've encountered! We paid an outrageous price for a room with a pool and received a villa, which was huge but completely pointless. There’s a kitchen with cabinets and a large refrigerator, but no way to prepare food, so what’s the use of all the cabinets? There’s a dining area, but it’s a villa for two—who exactly am I hosting? A huge sink in the bathroom, but the shower is mediocre, and a small balcony with uncomfortable wooden chairs. Worst of all, the private pool was so shallow, it barely reached our knees.

When we arrived, no one helped us with our luggage until we got to the reception. The service at the front desk was just okay. We went up to the room in a tuk-tuk that almost broke down halfway (not exaggerating). There was a urine stain on the toilet, the sink was clogged, and the shower pressure kept fluctuating. The service was awful, like they were doing us a favor by even acknowledging us. One waiter in the restaurant was downright unpleasant and even hostile. The breakfast was disgusting. They served us a salad from the night before, and it was obvious. The soy milk was sickeningly sweet. After trying it once, we never returned for breakfast.

We begged to leave, but they didn’t let us, and the hotel was fully booked due to the Full Moon Party. Even two days after the party, we pleaded for a refund for just one night so we could return to Koh Samui, but they refused. We explained that we wanted to leave the island altogether, but they refused to give us a refund, and we couldn’t afford to book another night at a different hotel after paying so much for just one night there! They gave us a small compensation of 1000 baht for the restaurant, but we didn’t care about that—we just wanted to get out of there.

While the view is stunning, the beach is dirty, and the hotel is far from everything. We rented a car once for three days whenever we wanted to drive to the other side of the island.

We do not recommend this hotel at all! In fact, we strongly suggest...

My wife and I traveled to Thailand for a month, and on the last night, I wanted to surprise her by booking one night in a beachfront suite. I was initially hesitant because some comments online mentioned that the rooms were dark and that the suite was located on a pedestrian road. However, since my expectations weren't high, everything turned out perfectly. The beach was one of the best in Koh Phangan, and only Malibu Beach could compete with it in terms of beauty. During the day, we relaxed on the beach and I went paddleboarding. We also witnessed a breathtaking sunset and took some great pictures on the paddleboard. In the morning, we went to Head Rin Beach to catch the sunrise. The breakfast was delightful. Unfortunately, we had to leave early in the morning since we had a ferry to catch at 10:00, but it was still worth spending one night there. I highly recommend booking a beachfront villa for more than one night to fully enjoy this paradise. I was surprised by the rude behavior of the bar staff. Throughout my entire month-long stay, I didn't encounter anyone ruder than them. They served us with cold faces and never said a simple word like 'thank you' when taking orders or delivering food. It appeared as if they were forced to work and lacked any emotions. Don't get me wrong, the ladies at the reception desk were doing an amazing job. I am specifically referring to the restaurant staff who served us on the sunbeds and delivered room service. I will not give them a 5-star rating solely because of the restaurant staff's behavior. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially considering the high prices they charge for their services. I would say that the restaurant's food is both overpriced and lacking in flavor.

I was honestly surprised after reading some of the bad reviews here. Why? For example, our bathroom had a natural sunlight window that got a bit too bright at midday. We asked for a curtain, and they sent someone to install it the very same day! This isn’t a standard request, yet they handled it immediately. Another example: when we arrived at the room, we noticed the safe wasn’t fixed to the wall — it was basically a box anyone could pick up. We called reception, and within five minutes someone came with a drill and secured it. So my advice to anyone leaving a bad review — instead of complaining, just ask the hotel, and they’ll fix it for you. This is officially a 4-star hotel, but I’d say it feels like a 5-star. We stayed in the Mountain View Pool Suite (room C05) — perfect if you’re looking for romance, privacy, and the freedom to enjoy everything with no one watching. Bonus: it also had a sea view! The pool is on the smaller side, but more than enough since guests are usually spread out between the beach and their rooms, creating a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. The beach sofas are amazing, the vibe is serene, and the interior design is stunning — we couldn’t stop taking photos. And perhaps best of all, the guests: no screaming kids or loud groups, just calm and friendly people. We even went to all the madness of the Full Moon party in Haad Rin — and it was such a pleasure to come back to the quiet here. When there’s no shuttle available, you can easily walk it. It took us just 11 minutes of a fun couple’s walk. In the end, it’s all about how you choose to take things in life… A truly wonderful stay — highly recommended for couples and quiet families 😊

Review regarding a staff member of The Cabin Beach Resort On March 25th in the late afternoon, we witnessed a shocking incident involving a staff member of The Cabin Beach Resort (recognized by his uniform shirt). He was driving a black pick-up truck with three tourists and intentionally stopped at a well-known monkey spot by the road. Despite a large, very clear sign warning not to feed the monkeys, he proceeded to hand out an entire bag of bananas to them. This behavior is extremely irresponsible and dangerous – not only for the safety of tourists and locals but also for the well-being of the monkeys. The sign explicitly explains why feeding them is harmful, yet the staff member ignored it completely. While the tourists may not have known better at first, as a Thai local and representative of a hotel, he should absolutely know the risks and lead by example. When I approached him and politely told him that feeding the monkeys is not allowed, he simply stared at me blankly and pretended not to understand. The tourists, however, understood and stopped feeding them immediately. It’s deeply disappointing to see a hotel employee, who should be promoting responsible tourism, act in such a careless way. Actions like this contribute to serious long-term consequences for the animals and the community.
