The Cocoon Hostel — Hotel in Ko Samet

I absolutely loved my stay at this hostel! From the moment I arrived, I felt like part of a warm and welcoming family. Nick and May, the amazing couple who run the place, put so much heart into everything they do. They're always excited to share the best tips and go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable and happy. The beds are super cosy, the amenities are fantastic, and the blackout curtains mean you’ll sleep like a dream. Everything is brand new, high-quality, and clearly chosen with care. The location couldn’t be better, just minutes from two stunning beaches (one peaceful, one lively) and really close to the pier. What made my experience even more special was the genuine care that extended beyond my stay. Nick even gave me great recommendations for things to do in Bangkok afterwards and continued to help me with tips for the rest of my travels. Nearly a year later, we’re still in touch which says so much about how sincere and kind both May and Nick are. Their warmth and authenticity truly shine through in everything they do! I honestly can’t recommend this place enough! A huge thank you to May and Nick for making my island stay (and even the rest of my trip)...

The Cocoon Hostel is located just five minutes by foot from the Ko Samed pier. It is on the island’s main road, so do not worry about finding scooters to rent or food.

The facilities are superb! The dorm is fitted with eight beds, lockers, and heavenly air conditioning. The bathroom is well-designed and placed adjacent to the bedroom. Everything is very clean and well kept.

Drinking water, coffee, and even breakfast is included in their cozy living room. Make sure to spend time and try to have dinner with the owners. They know all the of best local restaurants!

I visited as a solo traveler, and would not be surprised if I returned in the near future. The hostel is also perfect for those traveling in groups, but make sure to book in advance due to number of beds.

Absolutely loved my stay, highly recommend for any backpackers/low budget travelers! One of the best hostels iv stayed at, perfect for relaxing.

Very clean, comfortable beds, facilities were amazing with spacious bathroom, hooks and hangers everywhere making everything super easy, hot water and good shower pressure, great privacy curtains for beds and each bed even had a shelf, personal light and TWO COMFY PILLOWS. Hostel has small but comfy hang out area for relaxing, a tv for Netflix, drinking water and cereal and even a fridge and microwave, and the hostel is walking distance to the pier and beach and a 7/11. There’s even a station outside the entrance for washing off sand. Literally perfect. But the absolute best thing were the hosts. Made my stay even more wonderful, helping me book a bus ticket and making me feel very safe during my stay (something that is very important as a female solo). HIGHLY RECOMMEND WORTH...
