We ordered Green Curry and Krapow, and after staying on the island for a few days and trying out different spots, this is one of the most comforting food we had. It is served in a homey setting and the ladies working there were so warm and friendly. Food was also well priced and delicious. It felt like we had a Thai grandma cook for us! We were starving when we got there but it was definitely worth the wait! Will come back again!

To clarify other people’s review on slow service— yes, it does take quite awhile for food to come out. BUT you must remember it is a small local joint ran by an old thai lady who probably cooks each dish/ serves one table at a time. This is NOT a fast food chain. Don’t expect quick service and don’t come if you’re starving and not willing to wait. It’s common sense. You’re on a small island that is full of locals who run on a slower pace than you’re used to. Don’t come to a small island expecting city-like living and expect them to live at YOUR pace. It’s genuinely so sad to see how people can’t slow down and be patient. Also, if you think it’s “dirty” (we didn’t think so, it’s just messy but so what?), then don’t place your order and go elsewhere, no one forced you...

We recently visited the restruant looking for a place to eat. We were a group of 5 people all with varying tastes. We looked on various Web sites and found this one. On locating it we went to eat only to be told that they were full but we could have a table in 20 minutes. We were happy with the timing and went for a beer next door. On our return we were sat down on a larger table that had 2 people been previously satting at. They had been politely asked if they could move to accommodate our larger group. Something they were happy to do as they had finished eating.

Once the tables had been sorted we were quickly made to feel welcome. Our orders were taken and a note made to the degree of spice to be added to the food.

We did not have to wait long until the food arrived. It was hot and flavoursome. We have travelled widely in this part of the world and eaten in 5 star restruants and taken street food this was some of the best food I have eaten.

The family that run the premises were friendly and welcoming. We will be going back again and would recommend anyone looking for good value, enjoyable food with a great host then...

I had googled this place but was not sure whether this would be worth a visit. on my last day at Ko Samet I decided to go. The place has only 4-5 tables and is run by a small family of 3 old people. Initially I found them rude as they were not ready to take reservations even though I was ready to wait outside the restaurant. But soon realised that they were cute hosts and didn't want to take the hassle of booking table and making a note. Their menu is limited against other restaurants int he surrounding but whatever they had was worth the money and taste buds. Don't shy from telling them to make it mild spicy, I was scared with the Thai definition of spicy and ended up telling them non spicy. Later I added chilli powder else it was sweet because of coconut milk. Do visit on he very first night of your stay in Ko Samet and later explore other places. also they don't have the typical Thai small emanating from regular restaurants which is good. the old ladies were quite charming and made my family feel comfortable once we...

We loved everything here. Tried every dish during our stay. The people are great, the portions are large and the prices are very affordable. All dishes are full of flavor. Everything is made from scratch, so if you have to wait for a table or your food, it is well worth the wait. Try this place first so you have time to come back because you will want to! Some of our favorites were the Thai Basil and Special Steak. Both were excellent if you want a break from yummy rich curry soups but the Soups were awesome too! Oh and don't forget the HOMEMADE and REAL French Fries, just like back at grandmas. We cant wait until we visit again. Esther and Omer from Toronto, Canada, miss everything about this place.
