Having just returned home from our 3rd trip to the beautiful island of Koh Samui I had to write my first ever review. ||||Staying in the quiet side of Chaweng beach but a short taxi ride to the main area. Via Expedia.||The hotel has many wonderful restaurants within walking distance. Including the one opposite Noi , Melee Kitchen and many many more. The poolside bar has a good choice of local food and fries etc we had lunch most days . Breakfast buffet and egg station very good with staff soon knowing our favourite hot drinks and how you like your eggs etc . Hotel and rooms kept really clean and hand sanitizer at restaurant and reception. Could use one at pool bar to use before eating but rooms all close by so if you want to pop back to room no problem.||||Hotel is small which we like as no hustle for space around pool or it’s beautiful clean beach. You also get to know the staff really well . The staff here are amazing from the pool bar ( excellent cocktails) to the girls in the breakfast area . Cleaners ,grounds and reception staff all with warm smiles . One giving our 4 year old granddaughter small gifts every day of bracelets hair clips and chocolate. Made her stay truly special. ||||The grounds are well kept and the beach is truly gorgeous. The pool is lovely although quite hard to get in and out of if like us you are over 50 or have mobility problems . Steep steps to get in and out. Love the little huts which give shade but at the moment have bean bags which for the young without mobility problems are fine but quite hard to get up from. I did say to the manager might be an idea to give a choice of a lounger or bean bag . I had to ask for a chair as I had trouble keep getting up from the floor. ||||Other then this we a party of 6 including three 30 years old a 4 year old and two over fifty had a truly fantastic holiday here with wonderful helpful staff . One even left the hotel to source an ice cream for our granddaughter . Would...
Read moreAfter a shocking experience at a nearby hotel, I decided to find an alternative hotel for a couple of nights and chanced upon Kirikayan. We ended up with a duplex room that was the same price as the hotel from hell we had just checked out of. This is a newly opened hotel and I cannot recommend this place enough! The room was comfortable with a huge bed (albeit 2 mattresses pushed together) on the top level, overlooking the biggest bath tub that I’ve ever come across in a hotel room! I’m 6” tall and could lie perfectly flat! Bathroom and shower were great too. Breakfast was included in the rate and was very basic but enough to keep me content (I enjoyed a rice & curry with a couple of friend eggs on top). The pool area was superb, far better than expected with comfortable loungers overlooking the beach. Special mention goes to Smiley who was working the pool area, keeping it spotless and ensuring all guests left smiling! We ordered some cocktails during happy hour and to be honest ai wasn’t expecting them to be much to write home about, especially given they were so affordable but the Mojitos that Smiley made were outstanding!! Easily among the best I’ve had on Koh Samui. It’s such a pleasure to experience customer service from someone like Smiley who genuinely goes out of his way for the guests. My wife and I would definitely love to stay here again should the...
Read moreThis small resort was good for us as we got to know staff by name. Ben did a great job at breakfast each morning welcoming us with a smile and later in the day mixed great cocktails around pool. Yok was always happy and worked really hard around the pool area bringing drinks and food always with a massive smile. Nam was always so polite, cheerful and helpful whenever we saw her. The whole staff was great including reception and cleaning.|We feel that these three are a huge asset to the resort|We stayed in room 888, upstairs overlooking pool and beach. Great situation with jacuzzi and small deck, however our 2 negatives was that:|The room key also activated all electrics- a/c, fridge, lights. When we went out and locked room all the above turned off meaning drinks warmed in fridge and room was not cool to return to|Bathroom had poor lighting being at rear of the room and didn’t get any natural light. A bit of general maintenance would be good.|We have been to Chaweng 8 times before a knew the location which suited us. Quiet, not too far from nightlife and good restaurants close by and good swimming in...
