So far I have reviewed two places including this one for poor reason too unfortunately. The environment was nice when we walked in and the waitresses were very nice. When we sat down and ordered the food looked, not like photograph artwork, but good looking and tasty looking stuff. We ordered drinks, I got a banana milkshake which was decent, given the fact you cannot really mess it up. The starters came, we got garlic bread (which was garlic bread so pretty solid) spring rolls (which didn’t taste like spring rolls in the slightest) and satay chicken which I will go on a tangent about as Thailand, among other south eastern Asian countries is a praised country for satay chicken which typically has a grilled yellow look with black charring to add to flavour, served with a peanut sause. What we got was a grainy peanut sause served with BOILED CHICKEN dripping with yellow residue. Excuse me, but what south east Asian person would BOIL chicken and have the privilege to say it’s “Satay” absolute disgrace, and complete false advertising. Onto our mains it was even more miserable, we got chicken stir fry with basil, one of my personal favourites which lacked the taste of garlic, Chili and basil which it should possess and just tasted of spice, devoid of flavour. There was a chicken cashew stir fry, I am unaware of the name, but it’s suppose to have strong hints of oyster sause and soy sause, when I tried it, I felt like I dipped a chicken tender into KFC gravy, a far cry from the Thai cuisine I was promised. There was a sun dried pork dish which was alright and ok seasoned, and a bowl of rice which was unfortunately the highlight of the meal as it was the best tasting thing there. We asked the waitress for the cook and she refused to take any criticism of her food but rather said “other people liked it” and overall was incredibly rude, we asked for a refund as the food was beyond the definition of the word disgraceful and they said “you get what you pay for”. I’m sorry but I was promised “Thai” cuisine, not that of a regurgitating sewer rat and what we were given was an overall disrespect to the whole of Thailand and the sas that the cook said that “she was Thai” means as much as nothing, if I can get a monkey who is from France and tell him to cook, it doesn’t mean he can cook French food. Overall the food was miserable, the place was miserable and the staff were abhorrent. If you can’t take criticism, don’t make food that fecal matter can compete with. Don’t go, you will become depressed the nanosecond your spoon, fork or chopstick, with that slop that they consider food,...
Read moreCame to this restaurant due to extensive wait at restaurant next door and saw this place 3/4 full and thought it must also be good. Only when our “Thai milk tea” arrived did we check the reviews and instantly regretted sitting down but it was already too late. Staff and service were pleasant but due to quality of food would strongly recommend exploring the rest of the street and finding somewhere better. Pictures on the menu do not remotely match what we were served here. ‘Satay chicken’ was boiled unseasoned chicken on a stick covered in oil, ‘fried chicken with salt and garlic’ was boiled chicken in soy sauce. Honestly worst Thai food I have ever had. Me and my partner are music lovers ourselves and not ones to complain about noise but my GOD was there the worst music - a weird not quite country genre - blasting the entire night that completely killed what was left of...
Read moreThe place is run by 2 lovely ladies at the front of house and 1 gentleman and lady in the back of house. This place is lowkey, so prices are cheap. The environment is very nice, clean, and homely. The ladies at the front of house speak English quite well, they are very charming, friendly, and funny. I rate the service and environment 10/10.
The food is the best I've had in my Thailand trip. I had the ginger stir friend chicken and the vegetable fried rice and a water, only cost 210 baht. I tipped them 20 more since I was so happy. I rate the food 10/10.
I recommend anyone who comes to Koh Samui to give these lovely people a visit. They will make you feel like home and feed you...
