This resort has serious fraudulent conduct. I booked Superior double room with SEA VIEW.It supposed providing two large double beds but they jst gv only two double beds n forced us to pay higher cost if we want to check in.Now, I realised that they hd changed the word "large double" to "extra large double bed" in order to escape from my further action.Last time, they only wrote "double bed" and "large double bed" only. Some more, we couldn't enjoy any sea view yet roof tops only.
They likely to feint customers by the max guest written in the web page you hd booked is 2 persons and insist you to pay extra $ for the extra beds when you check in if you hv 4 people to check in. One more trick is if u book it's room, you need to pay first for the room before you arrive Koh Samui n the payment is non refundable. Thus if gt any problem occur, you couldn't do anything but to accept it.
They will explain to you that their page gt family room, but I double check already, there is no family room, all rooms are written max guest is for 2 persons only even the beds provided are enough for many people. All they want is to GET EXTRA $ from consumers.
I attach a photo as an evidence of the way they are trying to cheat consumer. I query how could a room with a single bed, 2 large double beds and an extra large double bed suit for 2 guests only.It is ridiculous.
End up my mother-in-law n sister-in-law stayed in this resort. My family went to other resort to stay. I booked the last 2 superior double rooms in other resort. They served us friendly n allowed my little kid to stay n hd breakfast for free. Here, the assistance manager in Samui Resotel Resort served us super duper badly, bellowed to us when we lashed at her for dishonesty.Logically, if gt no problem, we won't ask the explanation fr her n talk so much.In contrast, we will check in very soon n enjoy our...
Read moreThis hotel practice unethical and fraudulent treatment of their customers. We spent a week here for our honeymoon and they provided us with a list of things in the room from the start and how much everything costs. We knew this so when we were about to check out, we made sure to double check each and everything. Our only regret is not taking pictures or videos. When we arrived at the reception desk to check out, the manager told us it would take house keeping 5 minutes to check our room to make sure eveverything was there. She then told us house keeping could not find our beach basket. I went back to the room to check myself since I KNOW I LOOKED at that basket right before putting on my shoes. The towels in the basket were taken out and put on top of the shoes area, but the basket was of course gone. This makes me think that everyone was cohersing with each other to scam us. The manager told me we would have to pay over 500 tb for the plastic basket (~$15 usd). If we were in the wrong I would be willing to pay any price for the basket, but I know for sure the basket was there when we shut the door. In the end they allowed us to file a report and they will handle it with their accounting department. They picked the wrong people to mess with if they think they can get away with something so blatantly unethical and Wrong. I’m not recommending this hotel to anyone and would warn people to be extra careful when checking out. Take pictures or record everything. Perhaps they didn’t get as much money out of us as they do others and decided to get it this way.
Overall breakfast was good, little to no vegetarian options. I ate fruits and bread most of the time. The plumbing in the bathroom was not good and the internet was extra slow majority of the time. The view was beautiful but you can get that with other hotels on...
Read moreThis is a great resort: lovely staff; really attractive, modern design – ornamental waterways, tropical plants, light and airy; fabulous beachside spot; nice pool; and we were really happy with our room. It was huge, on the second floor (I’m British! I think some people call that the third floor) with a spacious balcony overlooking the pool and the beautiful turquoise sea. The bathroom was very nice and had an actual bath.
A slight negative was the sketchy Wi-fi. I know we should’ve addressed it with the management, but that conversation has never ended with a result in other hotels, so it was easier just to hot spot. Also, I had no bedside table or reading light because they were on the other side of a second bed; the mood lighting was atmospheric but not strong enough for reading. But these are minor quibbles.
We’d read some negative reviews about breakfast; maybe the managers did, too, because it turned out to be very good! Excellent coffee, a variety of fresh fruits, fruit salad, a selection of bread and pastries, eggs station (we had super-fluffy omelettes), a whole honeycomb, muesli, fruit, continental cheese and meats, and savoury dishes, such as pad Thai, which were different each day. You could choose to sit inside, outside or in between –a very attractive, open-sided area with views of the beach.
We had a free transfer from the airport, which we really appreciated. It was 500 baht for the return journey. We’d read that songteows aren’t allowed into the airport, or we’d have taken one.
I’d say the best thing about the resotel is the resort itself – the local area is a bit rundown, which is why I didn’t give the location a high score. If you want to settle in by the beach for a few days and relax, though, this is the...
