Must read before booking: The room is in a great location and right across from our dive school Big Blue Diving.
Every room has Big cracks around the front door allowing mosquitos in as they please. We kept killing them and more appeared. This was a deal breaker for us. A simple mosquito net would make everyone’s stay 100% better and this review would have way more stars.
Wi-Fi is very slow, they had us connect to and use the dive shop’s WiFi across the street…
Bathroom has a horrible smell from all the mold. The shower drain was clogged causing the entire bathroom to flood. The staff addressed this issue after we informed them. The toilet gets completely soaked every time you shower. If the bathroom had a deep clean with bleach it would make our stay more bearable.
The toilet and entire bathroom was completely soaked when we got into the room. The staff hoses it down each day to clean it. The toilet seat and lid was very moldy. So much so that the staff acknowledged the issue and had it replaced the next day. Room only had 1 roll of toilet paper but more rolls were provided when we requested. Staff was friendly and willing to help in ways that they could.
Bed is made everyday and fresh towels are provided. For some reason our bed sheet was turned inside out and put back on the bed. There was a rip on the top left corner and now it’s on the bottom left corner. This was again at the top left corner the next day. It appears the staff switches it everyday but it’s the same sheet.
Mini fridge in room was a plus! No blow dryer provided but there was one available at the front to borrow momentarily. Cotton swabs and small bar of soap provided. Trash is emptied everyday. Power is only on when in the room due to needing the special key card.
If you’re sensitive to noise you can hear drums and music from the bars...
Read moreLet me start by saying--don't believe all the reviews you read about this place. I actually am shocked at some of the things people say....I really don't know what they are talking about! It is absolutely amazing and the manager goes above any beyond to help you. We stayed here a week and this is our second time to Koh Tao. The hotel has several different types of accommodation to choose from. Beach bungalows, hotel rooms, rooms with rans, rooms with AC, rooms that are quiet, and rooms that look over the beach. It is located in the centre of Sairee beach so except some noise no matter what but know this accommodation is budget friendly as well as located by EVERYTHING. We stayed in the back building close to the resort and did not hear any noise! But staying on the beach you will hear the bars until 2-3am. The manger made us feel very welcome and he was there to make sure our stay was amazing. You can view your room before you move in as well as change if you dont like it after a night! We really got to know the manager over the week. We booked tours through him, transport, and laundry services. All at better rates! He even picked my partner up on his personal time from the opposite side of the island as we couldn't get a ride back to the hotel! Honestly, worth every cent and more! The wifi is good as there are several to pick from. We could watch Netflix on it no problem. The pool is also located at the dive resort, which is nice and quiet! We recommend eating at New Heaven Cafe, their coffee and oatmeal are amazing. The prices are the best as well! If you are here to enjoy the beach, nice food, atmosphere and this is what you get with this hotel! We will be back to Koh Tao and we will for sure stay here again! (Written by a 30...
Read moreI’m extremely disappointed with the service we experienced at the scooter hire associated with this hostel. We stayed here for three nights, and while the room and bathroom were outdated and unclean, that wasn’t my biggest concern. The real issue was the staff. They were inhospitable, rude, and unprofessional throughout our stay.
At checkout, it took over an hour to retrieve our key deposit, which should have been a quick and straightforward process. This unnecessary delay disrupted our plans and wasted a significant part of our day.
The next day, we rented a scooter from the same facility. Initially, everything seemed fine, but when we returned the scooter, the staff accused us of causing a scratch that was already there. We even had photo evidence proving the scratch was pre-existing, but the man in charge refused to acknowledge it. This led to a heated argument between him and my boyfriend, which dragged on for over 30 minutes. To make matters worse, the man withheld my boyfriend’s passport and brought out other men to intimidate us into paying an additional 500 baht. For our safety, we eventually paid the amount, but the experience was utterly unacceptable.
I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel compelled to warn others about this place. Whether you’re considering staying at the hostel or renting a scooter, I strongly advise against it. Spend your money elsewhere—either pay a bit more for better service or save yourself the trouble by...
