Cantina De Koh Tao — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Awful. As I've realized traveling through Thailand the past few weeks the portions for fries is always very small (no biggie). When I ordered the fries today at Cantina there was a piece of metal on the plate, and not a small one. When asked to get a little extra fries due to the metal they tried to charge me for a large fry and I told them to forget it. Now with the chicken fingers it was so dry I had to chew them for a solid 4 minutes. Now onto the enchiladas my boyfriend ordered... he had asked for no olives and when it had arrived they were covered with olives. The beans that came with it as well were so dry when you smushed them they turned to dust. When we asked if they could compensate us for the poor food it was a challenge. Honestly, when I complained about the metal the whole meal should have been compensated but we were only compensated a bit. All in all, was it worth it? No. I would save your money and find another...

Because we were in Thailand, we wanted to eat as much Thai Food as possible and try to avoid eating western / fast food. However, after a guilty pleasure visit to this Mexican place we came back two times because it was so good!

The nacho chips (homemade, just like the tortillas) are of very good quality and even tasty without anything to dip them in. Our favorite dishes were the crunchedillas and the mexican loaded fries. The slow cooked beef and the ground beef that are mixed into some dishes are very juicy, which gives it a rich flavor.

The food was delivered very quick and the portions (especially the crunchedillas) were huge. So if you are looking for a quick, big, tasty, mexican, (and not so healthy) meal, I would definitely recommend this place.

Some of the reviews might be negative due to wrong expectations. You should not expect very sophisticated dishes. It is more a very good, high quality fast...

I had such high hopes for this place. Unfortunately, it did not live up my hopes. The service was not very good from the start. Normally, I set my standards pretty low for service, but the wait staff didn't just have attitudes like they didn't want to be there, they also forgot part of the order and messed up another part. The burrito description included black olives and pineapple, which does not sound appetizing, so we asked for no olives. It came with olives and we were right, it was not a tasty combination. 10 minutes after my boyfriend's meal came out, my meal came out. It wasn't bad, but probably on par with Taco Bell or some other fast food place. We ordered two frozen margaritas but only got one. It was also only half frozen.
