The New Heaven Café was a treat. The atmosphere reminded us of a pricey café back in Canada; the food tasted great, the drinks were delicious, and—to our surprise—the food for six people came out at basically the same time (unusual for restaurants in Thailand). The prices are reasonable, but if you are trying to be fiscally conservative and don’t care about fancy flavours, do yourself a favour, and buy your fruit shakes on the street—if you are anything like us, we drink two shakes every time we sit down; at 80 baht per glass, New Heaven’s can get pretty expensive. The whole-grain bread option was a healthy and pleasant surprise; most places only offer white bread, and although it was quite dry, the contents of the sandwich was very fresh and I will not let the dryness of the bread affect my review as I do not believe anywhere on the island has soft baked goods (the 7 Eleven does, but I’m pretty sure their unrefrigerated crab and tuna sandwiches can last a lifetime). At New Heaven, one must order at the counter, but the service is fast and easy, and the presentation of everything is lovely—which is a nice touch. So, if you need a quick break from all of the cheap-Thai-island-food and a taste of North America to sooth your nostalgic taste buds, I would highly recommend New...
Read moreTerrible. Wish I'd read the reviews before I stopped in here but the place was packed so I (wrongfully) assumed it was good. The service was a mixed bag, the first lady who served me had an attitude and didn't seem to want to be there but the man who served me second was lovely. I got an 'Uncle Bennie' which should of been eggs benedict.. what I got was 2 soggy pieces of bread (not toast) with 2 terribly overdone poached eggs, bacon and the worst hollandaise sauce I've ever had (possibly home-made but it was separated and there was only about a spoonful of it anyway), with some undercooked pieces of fried potato. I also got an iced hazelnut latte and a caramel chocolate tart and they were really good. So a star for the coffee and a star for the tart. Oh and if you don't like smelly dogs begging for your food while you're eating don't...
Read morePretty good food but room for improvement. The eggs benny was not that great, they barely put any hollandaise sauce on and the bread is extremely thick. Add a lot more sauce and it’d be good. The specialty coffees were the best thing here. Prices are good
To add to this review. Opening hours said 7:45 but as we walked in at 7:55, the one lady was very rude and said “not open, 10 minuets”. Alright well we’ll wait then. Hours changed on Google. Service has been good until this point and the staff were OK.
*5 mins later they opened at 8am. So based upon being here several times, good service but...
