I went to Krabi Town with my significant other for two nights and we decided to take a gamble and do a walk in based on the vibes. We found this hotel conveniently located on the pier and decided to give it a shot. The two ladies at the reception did not speak a word of English so communication was real difficult. They told us they had an available double room with aircon for 1’900 THB. When I showed them my smartphone open on their hotel on agoda.com for half that amount, they went on panic mode and did not know what to do. They phoned someone to discuss the case and eventually accepted to give us the room at the advertised price. They pretended the amount they were quoting was for a riverview room. I asked to pay by credit card and they said they did not take cards. Odd as if I had booked on agoda.com, I would have paid by credit card. Our room had a window... over a dark wall that was 20 cm from it. Horrible. The room looked clean but the bathroom was a bit rundown. And there was no daily housekeeping. We really were not impressed...
Read moreI spent 5 days in Krabi and was looking for a clean and pleasant room between 600 and 1000 baths with aircon. After looking a little bit around, it seemed that i could find a nice dorm for less than that but it wouldn't be easy for a private room. A few hotels were quite nice but above 1000 baths. Others were in my price range but well below my expectations. Fortunately, as i was staying 5 days, i could negotiate with Marina Sea View Hotel. We're in Thailand.||||Not everybody speaks English but they will do their best to make you feel good. You won't see many backpackers but i found exactly what you see on the photographs. The hotel is really clean and calm.||||There are quite a few marinas on Krabi river. The hotel is located in the marina in touristic center, in front of tourist office and night market.||||I was on the 2nd floor in a big room (double bed) with fridge, TV, big bathroom and could sea the river when...
Read moreMy experience at Marina Sea View Resort in Krabi left much to be desired. Unfortunately, I felt a sense of discrimination as an Indian compared to other white tourists. The lack of assistance, even from the hotel owner, during issues in communicating with a delivery guy added to the disappointment.
Booking tour services through the hotel proved to be a mistake. The disregarded stated timings, and displayed impatience, asking us to leave for a ferry earlier than scheduled, despite our recent arrival from Bangkok.
The room was subpar, with a dull atmosphere, a broken shower, and an unwelcome abundance of mosquitoes. While the location was promising, the reprehensible behavior encountered overshadows any positives.
I'd caution others, especially people of color or those unable to spend in dollars, to consider alternative accommodations. It might be worth paying more for a better...
