This place is great, I always come here when I am in Krabi. There is a wide selection of delicious, cheap and creative foods....which is nothing unique in Southeast Asia. What is unique is that you can enjoy your food sitting down at a nice table with a view of a stage with local performers. Sometimes it's someone singing mediocre karaoke, but wait a while and you will see young b-boys (breakdancers) and also top notch fire spinners. đ„ There are dozens of stalls where you can buy souvenirs and unique handmade anything : jewelry, custom made shoes, pottery, clothes, toys, etc. There is a couple of stalls that sell beach themed adult cocktails and beer, so the drinkers are satisfied. There is a bouncy house for kids and little games where you can win prizes, so the kids are happy too. At the entrance is a really charming and charasmatic magician who does magic tricks with a focus on getting the children involved. The he sells the materials he performs with, each includes instructions on how to do the trick, so the kids can go home and practice to become young magicians themselves. This is one of the premier night markets in southeast Asia. It has a great vibe and makes the often times sleepy Krabi town come alive. It's only Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6-10 (some stalls close at 9 or 9:30) So plan your trip...
Read moreI went there with my 2 other friends, we booked our trip from Ao nang where we stayed at the The Ri Hotel. The trip costs us 150baht by joined trip with other guests from other hotel, they picked up at 6:00pm and the took around 30minutes before reached at Krabi night market. The van dropped us cross the street and pick up at 9:00pm. I'm a muslim traveller, so I kinda expect to have a good dinner at the market, just like they have in Ao nang. However, there are plenty of food stall but only serve finger foods. So, we do grab some food like chicken skewers (10baht one stick, this one is halal), som tam (50baht 1 bowl), fresh mango (50baht), ice tea (30baht), and we decided to just have a proper dinner when we back at Ao nang. I almost buy 1 pack of green tea powder for 500baht, just be careful, some grandma try to sell with really high price, when you can get lower prices at Ao nang. Other souvenir cheaper than Ao nang, just choose wisely. the van is quite punctual, and we actually go...
Read moreThis is the second time we have visited the weekend night market after first going in 2019. Its a fab market with lots of food stalls and a stage with local live music so a bit like a mini food and drink festival. We arrived for 6pm when it opened on the friday and would recommend that time so get freshly cooked food when it's a bit quieter. The sushi stall was amazing. Each piece was 10B so a about 23p in UK money so amazing value and best I've had. Lots of locals eat there at the market after school/work which is a good sign. Be brave and try lots of different foods. If you are looking for a market that is mostly clothes and souvenirs this isn't the one for you but if you want a friendly local style market with great food and a few stalls give it a try. Some people have complained about it being small but we loved it and spent a good few hours exploring and eating and listening to the bands. Nearby lots of bars too. We had a...
