DO NOT STAY HERE. The price may be cheap but you will suffer as a consequence.||||Our experience gets off to a bad start: the check-in woman was unfriendly, and made everything seem like a chore. We're told to take off shoes, as standard, but here THE FLOOR WAS FLITHY. In the room the MAIN FAN was BROKEN. A desk fan was provided but the room has only 1 plug socket, which we now had to use for the fan. When raising this issue she just shrugs and tells us to BUY OUR OWN EXTENSION CABLE! The room had BROKEN MOSQUITO NETS and the MOST UNCOMFORTABLE BED I HAVE EVER SLEPT ON. Springs dug into me the entire night. ||||But the worst is yet to come.||||One night we return at 10:30pm. Check-in desk is closed, so we let ourselves in via the back. My girlfriend and I drop our stuff in the room and go for showers, PULLING THE DOOR SHUT BUT NOT LOCKED. I return to the room to find the DOOR HAS LOCKED ITSELF. Room keys, phones and money are all locked inside the room! First we try knocking on the other rooms in hope of finding a phone to contact the desk woman, but unlike us no one else was stupid enough to stay here. Then with a horror I realise WE ACTUALLY NEED A KEY TO LEAVE THE BUILDING! We are literally locked in a dirty corridor. By a miracle there is a key left in one of the rooms, which we then use to let ourselves out of the building. We then go Chalita Bar a few doors down and explain what's happened to the manager. He was amazing; looked up the phone number and called the woman. He tells us she'll be there in THIRTY MINUTES. We wait. Then, a whole ONE HOUR AND THIRTY MINUTES LATER she arrives. She gets a tangle mess of about 20 keys and starts trying them in the lock. Literally the last one was for our room.||||I then explain how the door automatically locked to her, and this is the worst part.. SHE JUST SMILES AND SAYS "OH YEAH, THIS DOOR IS FAULTY".I'm speechless. How could she not tell us that and on top make us wait over an hour for her to arrive. ALL THE OTHER ROOMS WERE FREE YET SHE GAVE US THE ONE WITH A BROKEN DOOR AND...

Read moreThis place was recommended to us by another couple we met on the boat from Rai Leh to Krabi Town. It's a basic hostel/guesthouse - our room was a bit grubby but clean and overall satisfactory. The whole building is quite old, including the shared bathrooms, but then again everything worked and was clean so no complaints here. The lady dealing with the guests seemed to have little interest in us at times when we were asking for things (such as a second blanket), but would eventually help us out. ||||If you sleep with open window, it may get noisy in the morning depending on the room you got - ours was besides a little alley where local vendors made hell of a noise in the wee hours. ||||At last, the location is great - a few minutes from the Sunday night market as well as the night market at the riverside. All in all, you get what you pay for and it was...
