I think we were catfished by the photos on booking.com…
If you’re put in room 3007, I would suggest you try to change rooms asap. When we first got the room it seemed fine but as we were about to sleep, we realised the mattress was rock hard. There was no bounce and it genuinely felt like sleeping on a concrete slab. Tiny cockroaches were in the shower in the bathroom and a lot of the fixtures are outdated/ broken/ dirty or rusted as seen in the photos. Shower head was leaking at multiple places.
Went down the next day and asked if we could end our stay early and get a refund because we did not want to spend the rest of our stay there. Couldn’t imagine sleeping on that rock hard bed for another 4 nights. The lady at reception said that the manager was not there but I could send an email and see what could be done. Emailed them but still to this day have not received a response. Went back again later that day and they offered for us to change rooms which we accepted. New room was SO much better. Mattress was definitely different and we could actually sleep on it. Bathroom also seemed cleaner. Our stay was much better after that.
Amazing location which is definitely the selling point. Only a 5 minute walk down to Patong beach, 7eleven literally opposite the hotel, Malin plaza is a 5 minute walk up the road with lots of food stalls and many massage parlours, currency exchanges and street vendors around. Also only 20 mins walk to Jungceylon shopping centre. We definitely did not struggle to get around.
We had breakfast everyday at the hotel. quite decent and good. Don’t have any complaints there. Staff were so lovely too so cannot fault the service at all.
Pool is quite nice but it was a bit dirty with leaves so we did not end up swimming at all...
Read moreBooked a pool access room, first impression – it smelt of cigarette smoke and requested another immediately which we were given. All outdoor furniture and every pool room outdoor pool bed that had sun beds on their balcony’s with access to the pool appeared to be all in very poor condition bordering on dangerous. I took a photo from Ramaburins website and showed the manager who was very nice and to show him from their own website just what I paid for, lovely pics of mattresses on all sunbeds… then took him around the pool to point out there were no mattresses on any sun loungers and I had asked for a mattress on our pool side outdoor lounger to be told none were out as they only had one available in the whole place and I said I wanted it. The manager was very obliging I said I wanted to see safe sun beds around the pool and I wanted it out on display for guests to use by the next morning. This was done, new sun loungers were provided however the pool access rooms had nothing which is very poor when you pay good money. The presentation outside front entrance needs a major overhaul, to may trees hide the front drive and the R in the name Ramaburin has dropped. Lastly the bed was a killer worst I have ever slept in it was dead hard almost rock like mattress we struggled for 4 nights – would I stay here again – no, go 3 doors down the road to Blue Ocean Resort and Spa hotel much much nicer and more bang...
Read moreThr hardest bed I've ever slept on wasnt even the worst part about the experience. What seems like a good hotel in a good location only got worse and worse from simply checking in. When I got to my room, the wifi was not working which made it hard for me to access my laptop for work. Every single day we stayed, the wifi did not work. Even after inquiring with the front desk, there was no change. Finally, few things in the room were replenished (soap, body wash, etc), the water has to be paid for in the room while other hotels offer it for free and our sink faucet was broken and would dispense water sideways. Additionally, there is a policy that was told to me upon arrival that any guest I bring back is an instant 750 baht charge. Even if that guest was a friend or family member, any addit8onal guest would be a charge. Initially, it made sense. No one wants to stay at a hotel with escorts running amuck. But why charge for it when you can simply put the rules within your regulations and enforce it by kicking people out? Seemed shady to me.
Other than those things, the staff was very helpful and courteous (great people), the rooms were clean and well kept, a lot of power outlets, and the location near everything...
