It's our first time in Phuket and I'm glad we chose Deevana Plaza Phuket Patong for our stay. Patty is our favorite among the staff as she is very welcoming and bubbly. She even hugged me during my birthday and on our last day at the hotel. Really appreciate her. 🫶🥹
Here are some pros and cons for you to consider:
Pros: 24-hour check in - We arrived past 11pm and they still welcomed us. Even gave us welcome drinks. Variety of breakfast choices - You won't go hungry! Lots of pastries, there's even soup, and Indian food, fruits, vegetables, and cereals. And oh, I loved their Thai Milk tea. Also, cakes for breakfast? Yes! Speaking of cakes - They gave me a birthday cake 🥹🫶🥰 Decent room - The room is large enough for a family of 3. There's also bathtub (tho I didn't use it). Complete amenities and towels. You can easily request for anything you need. There' also iron with board, safe, and hair blower. Pool with slide - I really booked this hotel because it has a pool with slide because that's what my mom is looking for haha The pool is a bit deep for our height (I'm 5ft haha) and need to tip toe but manageable. I enjoyed the slide. There's also a jacuzzi pool and kids pool. There's an area for a pool bar. No active bartenders in the actual pool bar area but you can order and drink there if you want. The bartenders are inside. Lots of nearby establishments, including 7/11, eateries, Hard Rock Cafe, and even an ATM and currency exchange at the front of the hotel itself. There's also Starbucks inside the hotel. Most staff members are polite and approachable Stores luggage for the guests even after check out if needed
Cons: Not beachfront - If you're looking for a beachfront hotel, this is not for you. Contrary to other reviews, I find it a bit far to the beach. I have senior parents with me, and maybe it took us maybe max 10mins to get to Patong hotel. A bit inconvenient I might say. If you want to explore other beaches in Phuket, you will need to ride Bolt/Grab/other modes of transportation. Room is decent but I thought it lacks lighting? I hope there's english channels in the TV. I passed by some english movies but it was dubbed in Thai. Limited number of drinking water bottles per day. If you need more, you have to pay. I suggest putting water dispenser at the lobby or at each floor so guests can have access to drinking water (I've seen this in other hotels) No lotion and alcohol included in the room amenities No lifeguard on duty (haven't seen one during our stay; so please be careful) A bit of language barrier with some staff members. I hope this wouldn't offend anyone but I mean it in the nicest way possible: I suggest basic english lessons for easier communication with guests, most especially that guests are a mix of foreign nationalities.
As you can see, the pros still outweigh the cons, so I still enjoyed our stay in Deevana overall. Thank you for the wonderful...
Read moreStayed there for three nights with family. We had booked two rooms. I regret to review that we did not have a good experience at the hotel. Firstly, the walls of the rooms that we got were so damp that after one night of stay in the room my sister and I had complaints of very bad smell and throat pain. We informed the reception of this problem and they readily agreed to move us to a different set of rooms. While I'm very thankful to the staff for being so understanding and helpful, we were asked to vacate the rooms at 10am and our new rooms would be ready by 2pm. By the time we came back from Patong beach around 2, the reception told us to wait till 2:30. Long story short, this kept on lingering and we finally got our rooms at 3:30pm. We had to wait by the pool for almost two hours with clothes full of sand and the staff did not bother to arrange for a short term accommodation.
Secondly, when we vacated the room I forgot to pick my iphone charger. I realized that at night and rushed to the reception. They enquired with the housekeeping and it wasn't found. Then we had to unpack all 5 huge bags looking for the charger. When I ultimately did not find it, I asked the reception if I could visit our old room. They readily arranged for it. The room had already been cleaned and made up for new customers. I did not find the charger. The next day a few hours before we had to check out, I called up to the reception and talked in a slightly strong tone that the charger has to be with the hotel since I definitely do not have it. They promised to check again and my charger was delivered to me after ten minutes. While I'm thankful to the staff for ultimately finding it but they could have done their diligence when I approached them first. I wouldn't have had to do so much of unpacking and repacking. And my phone did not work for a full day.
All in all, we did have some really good moments at the hotel, specially dozing off by the pool. A blueberry cheese cake was delivered to my parent's room sine it was their 25th wedding anniversary. The location of this hotel is quite perfect due to its proximity to the Patong beach, hard rock Cafe and Indian restaurants. If you're reading this to finalize on a hotel, most probably you won't see any problem here unless you're running a little short on luck. There are a number of other hotels right next to Deevana that can also be considered. Have a good time...
Read moreIn order to save money from the airport, I took a taxi with the Chinese, talked on the way, and they offered to stay at the hotel where they would relax. I was very tired and agreed, since getting a visa at the airport took about 3 hours !!! I do not remember that it was an hour when we arrived at the hotel, maybe 6 am, they refused to settle me, because they did not accept dollars and yuan (Chinese) and I could not pay in batts, and the exchangers started their work at 9 am. I spent three hours outside the hotel, changed the money and didn’t lodge me again, they said that they would be able to settle at 11. I sat for two hours again. At 11 o'clock I was again refused, saying that there are no rooms cleaned. Although I booked a room on the road in a taxi. I did not have the strength and desire to wait, it is not clear what, and I quarreled with the hotel administrator went to look for another hotel. Just opposite was the Hotel Divan. I liked the look and I went to the reception to find out the cost. I was told the price of 3,800 or 3,600 Baht per day, while on the booking price was at least 1,000 baht cheaper. I booked a room with a view of the pool and without breakfast. At the reception brought a compliment from the hotel delicious refreshing cocktail, it was very nice. At the reception staff attentive friendly and smiling. Settled very quickly. The room is spacious, everything is clean and tidy, the room has a large balcony and free Wi-Fi (password is issued at the reception) The pool is located on the first floor, around the sun beds and umbrellas. Towels issued by the pool. She lived on the 3rd floor alone, but it was possible to live in three. The bed is huge. The bed is clean, towels are new and fresh. Cleaned every day, changed the towels and bed. Rested in the sofa for 11 days. I was very pleased. I took the car for rent for a couple of days (car rental - Orange car phuket, there is a website on the Internet), taxi pipets are expensive here.
Opposite the hotel there is a good massage parlor and cafes with delicious food. Good location. Banglarad street 10 minutes walk to the beach 5 minutes. Opposite the hotel offers tours at good prices, there is also a supermarket and laundry. When checkout things were allowed to leave on the first floor of the hotel until my departure to the...
