I had a quick stay at Avani Sukhumvit to try this property and compare with the other two Avani hotels in Bangkok. This hotel was opened less than two years ago so the hardware is new and modern and of similar quality as Avani+ Riverside, both of which are much nicer than the aging Avani Atrium. People on a budget could find this hotel to be a good choice but there are compromises to make, for example the location is not central, suite upgrades are very unlikely, and the hotel does not have an executive lounge.

I booked the entry level room and received a two-category upgrade to a Deluxe room as GHA Black member, my room was a bit more spacious (37 sqm) than the lowest two room types (26 sqm). The room looked great and was in excellent condition as can be expected for a new hotel. I liked that it was very bright particularly in the bathroom because of the huge window in front of the bathroom sink and counter, but as a couple it would be required to draw the blinds down with the electric controls because the toilet was looking straight out that window into the bedroom without any door; for a solo traveler, this will be a non-issue. The bathroom also had a large stand-alone shower with excellent water pressure in addition to a separate bathtub, and similar to other Avani hotels they had Malin & Goetz amenities. A minor flaw of the room was that air conditioning could not lower the temperature below 21C even on full blast all night. I would not say the room was hot, but I wish it could have been a tick lower.

The restaurant closed due to covid so I could not have breakfast or dinner there. That said it was not a big issue because the hotel is directly connected to a shopping mall which has lots of restaurants and also a grocery store (Tops) in the basement.

The location of the hotel is quite out of the way but it’s immediately next to On Nut BTS sky train station on the Sukhumvit line so it’s easy access to public transportation. It is 7 stops away from Ploen Chit station which could be considered city center and you get there in 20 minutes. I liked the convenience of walking out of the hotel straight into the shopping mall, but for most people the location will not be a plus.

Overall Avani Sukhumvit is a nice hotel with good quality rooms at a modest price. For solo travelers who need to be in this part of the city it should be a no brainer, otherwise for better chances of a suite upgrade and central location there are...

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel immensely. Let me summarize good and bads for you. Good: Price is great. What you get in this price compared to other places, is really nice. Beds are EXTREMELY comfortable. I love that king size bed, mattress, pillows, blankets, it was all so cozy and comfortable I had to extend my stay several times!! Room is clean and nice. Shower has a strong water pressure even on the 25th floor. Shower water is nice and hot when needed, shower is of a great size with big entrance door, and no water was leaking anywhere. There's a small gym, that gives you 2 treadmills, some weights with a bench, plenty of mirrors, strong AC around. Right next to gym is a swimming pool. Sunning next to the swimming pool is possible until 1:30pm, as I remember. Staff members (reception) are very kind! Anytime I had some questions, they always helped me. I'd like to thank especially to Bon (hotel's manager) who have made a great impression on me by his professional and friendly approach. He helped me a lot to make my stay comfortable, ensured the specific room is ready for me in advance. We got along very well, we then talked about various topics. Location of the hotel is great. BTS Skytrain is right next to the hotel. There are two markets on the same street as the hotel (one is close, one further). There is a small shopping mall, called Century plaza, right inside the hotel building. It has a Cinema too! There is MK restaurant right across the street, Tesco Lotus, and other places to eat including some local food. Traffic outside is busy so getting a taxi is quick. Not so good or could be improved: The breakfast is mediocre, at best. But that's not the fault of the hotel, as due to the COVID-19, hotel's restaurant is closed, and breakfast are served at the Coffee place on the ground floor. It's not a bad Coffee place, as other meals and smoothies are really nice, just breakfast are lacking in quality and not leaving the best impression. Waiting times were also very long, few times I waited about 30 minutes. Gym had no papers or water cups refilled for quite some time, but it was then fixed after my inquiry. TV channels list is limited. There's only one english channel with series/movies, it's Warner Bros.

Overall. This hotel is absolutely great. I had a great time, and I am definitely looking forward to...

Disappointed Experience with Empty MinibarDear hotel Manager, Avani Sukhumvit Bangkok.I hope this review finds you well and everyone reading this. I recently had the pleasure of staying at your esteemed hotel, and while my overall experience was fantastic, I regret to bring to your attention a particular disappointment that detracted from an otherwise delightful stay.Upon checking into my room, I was excited to explore the amenities, including the minibar. However, I was disheartened to discover that the minibar refrigerator was empty. As a frequent traveller who appreciates the convenience and luxury of having refreshments readily available in the comfort of my room, this omission was quite disappointing.I understand that oversights can occur, and I trust that it was not a deliberate act. Nevertheless, I believe it is important to bring this matter to your attention, as it may impact the experiences of other guests in the future. The presence of a well-stocked minibar is often a significant part of the premium hotel experience, and its absence in this instance was surprising, especially in a high-end establishment such as yours. While I recognize that mistakes can happen, I would like to share my feedback in the hope that it can contribute to the continuous improvement of your services. I believe that addressing the issue will not only enhance the overall guest experience but also uphold the reputation of your esteemed hotel.I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter and ensure that future guests are not faced with a similar disappointment. Your attention to this concern would reaffirm my confidence in the quality of service offered at your hotel.I am grateful for the attentive and courteous service that I received from your staff during my stay, and I genuinely hope that this feedback will contribute to the ongoing efforts to uphold the exceptional standards for which your hotel is known.Thank you for taking the time to read this review, and I look forward to hearing from you regarding the steps taken to address this...

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Poor Service and Communication I stayed at Avani Sukhumvit for 4 nights in a Skyline Room, and unfortunately, this was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences I’ve ever had. On the first night, I noticed the air conditioning wasn’t cooling properly, but I assumed it was just slow and decided to sleep through it. The next day, it became clear the AC was actually broken, so I contacted the front desk to request maintenance. They sent a technician who confirmed the unit was faulty and performed a temporary fix. Later, the front desk called me and asked me to inform them when I would be out so they could repair it properly. At that point, I requested to change rooms instead, because not only was the AC an issue, but the current room was right next to the elevator and extremely noisy. The staff said they would check and call me back. I waited for 30 minutes, only to receive a call asking if the AC was now working – completely ignoring my room change request. I had to complain again and explain that I had been waiting specifically for an update about moving rooms. Only then did they finally check for availability and switch me to another room about 10 minutes later. This level of miscommunication and lack of attentiveness is unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. I have stayed in many hotels worldwide and have never experienced such poor coordination from the front desk. The location is convenient as it’s right next to the BTS, but that’s where the positives end. The property is extremely busy and noisy, which makes it a poor choice for business travelers. Overall, a very disappointing experience – I would not recommend this hotel.

In France, when we're pleasantly surprised, we call it a "Wouahou" effect... We've just returned from a trip where we stayed at the Avani Hotel in the On Nut district. And it was 24 floors (there are 30, I think) of "Wouahou" effect. Our reservation, room 2414, was a delight. The hotel has direct access to the BTS, and also direct access to the Central Movie Plaza shopping mall. The lobby is incredibly beautiful, as is the rest of the hotel. Our room was ultra-clean, quiet, and on the 24th floor, we had a breathtaking view of the city. All amenities were of the highest standard. I'm repeating myself, but the hotel was one of the biggest surprises of our 2-week trip to Thailand. Breakfast is a moment to be experienced; in my experience, it's unheard of. The dishes are numerous, varied and, above all, very good. You have an incredible choice of dishes... I could write pages and pages about this incredible hotel. You can make a reservation with complete confidence. But the most beautiful hotel in the world would be nothing without its very, very professional staff. If our stay was a success, we owe it to the staff. *** So a huge thank you to Gigi, Nan and Foan, thank you 1000 times over for your welcome and service. *** Thank you a thousand times over for your welcome and service. Thailand really is the land of smiles and kindness. I'm sure ! : ) We look forward to seeing you again on our next trip to Bangkok. Sebastien CORNET

Everything was perfect. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant, gym and swimming pool. The hotel is convenient located right next to On Nut train station so you can take the train to all your places of interest. I was informed by one of our tour guides that this hotel is located in a less touristy area so it’s quieter - which is perfect for people who are visiting Bangkok purely for relaxation and massages. It is also linked to a relatively new shopping centre (Century The Movie Plaza). The mall has a Starbucks, McDonalds, massage place (Relax Place) on the third floor, Pepper Lunch, a hot pot place, a cinema, a supermarket, and other food places at the Basement floor and first floor. There is also a nice grill and hot pot restaurant about a 10-minute walk from the hotel (Best Beef Sukhumvit). If you prefer cheaper massages and shops, there are street markets, pharmacies, and massage places around the area. In short, there are lots of things to do within the area, and the city centre is easily accessible via train. One area that could be better is the gym. Treadmills are quite well-used in most hotels we’ve been to so it would be better if the gym had more of these. We had to wait each time we were there as other people were using it. The treadmills are also programmed to slow down/ stop every 20 minutes, which disrupts your momentum.
