Rungrot Pharmacy — Local services in Phra Khanong Nuea Subdistrict

Discount pharmacy. Prices are well below the chain retail pharmacies. The queues tell you - it's very popular for a reason! Queuing is well organised and seating is available. Recently my waits have averaged less than 2-3 minutes but in the past could be as much as 10 minutes. Have never quite figured when is the best time to go.

I used to buy all my meds here (have condo in OnNut for regular visits to Bangkok). That stopped when a local pharmacist in Isaan (my family residence) some years ago spotted me comparing his prices on my handheld and rejecting most of his offers. Now he competes on price with Rungrot for my business!

You won't get the kind of personal service that a local highly trained pharmacist who knows your state of health can provide (like mine in Ubon, who I now give more latitude to on pricing differentials, because I value his highly personal service).

However, Rungrot is a great OnNut institution with a large stock, offering a range of different brands from western to Thai-made for whatever drug you specify. Rarely (make that almost never) have I drawn a blank or 'out of stock' reaction here.

Only a few of the staff are confident English speakers, but the assistant who first serves you will introduce others if you are struggling.

Undoubtedly, it's one of the best pharmacy in Bangkok. I have been getting my medicine from this pharmacy in the last few years because of the excellent customer service and the competitive prices for the medicines they sell to the public. More importantly I have chosen Rungroj pharmacy because when I need any advice or help regarding a particular medicine, I always find the Pharmacist, I think she is the lady running the place, so helpful, even when she is busy, she rush to help and take care of the customers anytime with a genuine smile on her face 😊. This place is extremely efficient and professional they understand English and they have a good selection from my experience. When you go in you stand in line and tell them what you want they hand you a number and then you sit down and you'll be called like 3 minutes later and pick up whatever it is that you've ordered. Then they walk you over to the payment window and you scan a QR code and you're done. Very efficient very effective I would highly recommend this Pharmacy they've had a lot of drugs there that many many other places around the area...
