Capitel Rama 4 — Hotel in Phra Khanong Subdistrict

We stayed 4 nights in Capitel, in April 2024, during Songkran. What we liked: the access to a well equipped kitchen, we cooked breakfast every morning (what most people use the kitchen for) and used it also to dine in one evening. the rooftop terrace, especially in the evening when the temperature goes a bit down, it is very enjoyable to sit and have a drink there (there is a big 7/11 nearby with a good choice of beers) comfortable bed

What we didn’t like: the noise. Everything resonates extremely much in the hallway, so we were constantly woken up by people talking/getting out of their room (the doors slam very loud)/walking the hall. It was a huge minus as we didnt sleep good any night. the location. The hotel is far from the public transport connections, there are only buses around, and they are too unreliable (most of the time in these 4 days we spent waiting for never-coming buses). Grab to the city center is always 200-300 Baht. there is no cleaning done (only 1x every 5 days, but who stays longer?), not even emptying the bin (when they ask us to not flush toilet paper…) or...

Pros: the bed is huge and comfortable spacious room free laundry service lift to every floor swimming pool with unobstructed view of Bangkok skyline at sunset room is exactly like the pictures shown in the website shared kitchen on level 6 - can cook meals water dispenser on level 6

Cons: not near BTS market as air bnb but room is sparse with no sofa or mini bar, no kettle provided but a ramen pot was provided instead which is an odd choice pillows are flat toilets are makeshift motel type - no hand soap provided just body soap and shampoo cleaning service was abysmal - arranged for a room service, but there was barely any cleaning done other than emptying of trash - floor was not vacuumed or mopped feel more like a massive dormitory instead of air bnb it’s also a co working space with shared kitchen on level 6, shared fridge is dirty with half finished food walls are thin - could hear neighbors and the thump of their...

When we first walked into the room after checking in we were very surprised to see the room was nothing like what the pictures showed. The place said newly renovated and it must not have been the rooms because they looked dated and lacking regular amenities like a mini fridge, regular tissue paper and bathroom amenities like cotton swabs even. The “view” was of a swamp and construction area and lizards were crawling around the room even. We were upgraded to a special room as the attendant stated when we first checked in so i would not like to see what the lesser rooms looked like. The pillows were very clumpy and when we asked for extra blankets and pillows they gave us attitude and gave us more clumpy pillows. All in all it was disappointing experience and would advise against booking this location as it was also out of the way of any area with alot of restaurants...
