Clean Rooms, Close to the Beach
Room was clean, close to beach (2 min walk) with great, best price food on beach and on a small side street that has several restaurants (100+ BHT, tasty) and massage places (200-250 BHT/hr). Also close to large mall with Tesco (Market Place Mall, 5 min). 2 min to Family Mart. 10 min walk to night market (mmmmm). HD TV with several English language news channels (and German, French, etc. News) & English TV & movie channels. Powerful shower that left bathroom dry.
WiFi is a bit unstable with not a very high throughput. For some reason they didn't clean our room the last 2 days (even though I always left 40 BHT for them). Perhaps it was because we never left the room & they thought they were being nice not to bother us! They always left us water & fresh towels outside, though. Safe was too small for 10.1" tablet.
American breakfast 150 (or 160?) BHT (2 eggs, ham, bread, coffee). Beach towel 10 BHT. Also, no elevator in this multistory building and no bell boy.
We ended up moving to the hotel next door (Thipurai Beach Hotel) for the second week of our stay for free breakfast bar, beach towels, elevator, solid & stable WiFi, small balcony, slightly larger safe, smaller room, English speaking front desk. Similar TV channels on old fashioned tube TV! So...
Read moreThis is a good budget hotel, just one lane back from the beach. We had a large room with a balcony, which was great value. The room was large, as was the balcony. The bathroom was clean and functional. The little street that the hotel is situated in is very quiet, with many options for breakfast or a meal. My one warning is to not transfer money to the 'hotel' to pay your deposit. We did, and we sent several emails, without ever getting an acknowledgement. It turns out that the hotel and the owner's bank account are completely different, so we had trouble whilst we were there trying to prove that we had paid the deposit. My advice is to use one of the popular booking websites, or to pay in...
Read moreA very quiet hotel 3 mins walk from the beach via the Veranda restaurant. Market Village on the doorstep and mid way between the town centre and the weekend night markets. Didn’t get the balcony I had reserved but the room was spacious enough that I was happy to extend my stay in the same room. Cleaning ladies made up the room and replenished water each day. No reception after 20:00 so you have to lock the doors yourself after hours. Would stay again for...
