The restaurant is located in the Hua Hin Marriott Resort and Spa. But make no mistake, it is not an average hotel outlet. The place is delightfully and stylishly decorated, with strong accents on luxury and modernity, in such a way that creates wonderful relaxing ambient. With an open kitchen layout, guests/ diners have clear views of the chefs working. The breakfast menu offers a wide variety of everything, I mean everything I can imagine of what I would have for breakfast. The place looks like nice a deli department to me. Apart from cold cuts and salad, I'm surprised with the quality and quantity of menus like dim-sum, noodles, eggs (try signature egg menu: Laab Moo), pastry, ice cream, congee, asian dishes, fresh coconut, fresh cold pressed juices, Thai tea, etc. All the products are fresh and ingredients are of high quality. One thing I find lacking is the service. As the place is usually crowded in the morning until 11 a.m., staff are extremely busy and the service is a bit slow. You can hardly get a smile out of the waitresses. Sometimes, they are eager to clear you table even before you finish your breakfast. Despite the high price and not so attentive services, I had quite a delightful dining experience with an interesting mix of food of exquisite flavours. Outdoor patio overlooking a garden/ a swimming pool is also a cool spot...
Read moreOk. Not sure what happened. I stayed at Marriott Hua Hin last year, ordered room service for Pad See Ew with Prawn. It was the best Pad See Ew that I had ever had. I went to Amber Kitchen the next day and ordered it again with pork. It was not as good, but it was still really good.
After that visit, it even led me to hunt for the best Pad See Ew in Bangkok. I just cannot accept the best Pad See Ew that I have ever tried is from a room service at a hotel.
Today, I came back to Hua Hin. Didn't stay at Marriott, but I ordered one to go. So looking forward to it.
Alas... It was not good. Don't know what happened with the kitchen. I see and taste a westernized version of Pad See Ew with broccoli and cauliflower!!? WT....
So disappointed. I would give it a 1 star. But, I am giving the the benefit of the doubt. I did order over the phone. Or whatever. I will come back and try it again. Because the first version that I had was worth the trip. 5 stars! If it is disappointing again, I will update this review...
Read moreWhile staying at the hotel, I enjoyed breakfast and dinner at Amber Kitchen.
First of all, the food is fresh and delicious, not need to mention a lot! I was very satisfied because there was various of Western and Thai food. Many travelers experience the Hua Hin Night Market a lot, but I would like to prefer to recommend Amber Kitchen as a must go restaurant in Hua Hin.
In addition, I would like to express my gratitude to a staff named KAI at the Amber Kitchen.
He is the kindest staff at Marriott Resort and Spa. He always approaches quietly before the customer needed anything and taking care of the inconvenience. He is a kind but gentle that keeps his manners and consideration for his guests. Last day of holiday I finally wanted to eat fresh mangoes at the fruit section, unfortunately it wasn't ready, KAI quietly handed me the mangoes, and I ate the sweetest mangoes ever. Thank him a lot gave me such a warm hearted memory at Marriott Hua Hin, It was a perfect holiday in Hua...
