Big Fish & Bar — Restaurant in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

I was going to write a review but I got side tracked. However I do feel I should write this to let others know….

My gf and I found ourselves in Hua Hin a bit unexpectedly. Marriott don’t allow pets so we stayed somewhere else. They also didn’t allow pets into the restaurant - but it looked decent and eventually I convinced my gf to leave him at our hotel so we could at least try the place 😅

Walking up I saw a small sign saying big fish….. ok it was a medium sign, at best! Not a great sign (pun intended).

Bearing in mind that my gf and I had just been on an extravagant Michelin star long weekend in Bangkok…. This place was the second best restaurant we’d been to!! (And sorry but nobody can compete with Jay Fai! But being second to Jay Fai is something VERY special indeed!!! 😜)

I don’t know what it was about that night - obviously great food/service/ambiance and fair prices… but there was something special about that meal and I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Fortunately it was also a great show at the beach😍

We have been here for a while and have always been very happy with the food, drinks and excellent service.

This time I unfortunately have to reduce my points to just 3 points:

This reduction is due to the big problem with Cardless payment via Android Wallet, no Google Pay, no Paypal pay and not even Apple Pay was possible, but they accept Alipay ONLY!?

We have been to other Marriott resorts several times, no problem at all.

Mobile payment with Apple or Android is actually standard in a 5-star resort, but unfortunately this does not seem to be the case at the Big Fish & Bar Marriott Hua Hin.

We had a long conversation with Khun Steffan who was very friendly and agreed to escalate this point to the management and accounting...

Lovely Dining Experience with Ocean Views

We had a wonderful meal at this restaurant! The food was fresh and delicious, with several chefs ready to prepare dishes to order. Despite the restaurant being full due to the long weekend, we were lucky to be seated at a stunning spot with a direct view of the ocean.

As it lightly drizzled outside, we enjoyed being indoors, watching the sky change from soft blue to deep navy—truly a calming and memorable setting. The hotel staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. Even though we weren’t hotel guests, they kindly offered buggy transport to and from the restaurant, which was a thoughtful touch.

Out of the three dishes we ordered, my favorite was the red snapper with three-flavor sauce. The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside—absolutely delicious!

Overall, the experience was fantastic and well worth the price. I’ll definitely be returning on my next trip!
