Stay far away from this hotel!
I stayed at One World One Home in Rawai, Phuket. I have traveled most of the world and visited over 80 different countries, but One World One Home truly stands out from the hundreds of hotels I’ve stayed at – and not in a good way.
I started in room 301, which had countless problems. In the small kitchen I paid extra for, there were no cooking plates, and instead of a regular fridge, there was only a minibar fridge for bottles. (That does not belong in a kitchen.) After several complaints, they finally replaced it with a normal fridge, and as a “solution” gave me a single hotplate, which was both unsafe and useless.
A few days later, a water pipe burst – or something similar – flooding the entire room. I had no choice but to mop up the water six, seven, eight times a day with hotel towels. After five days in this “swimming pool,” I was finally moved to another room where things were slightly better.
But then, at 1:00 AM in the middle of the night, I received a message from the owner/manager accusing me of using far too many towels. I was shocked – instead of thanking me for keeping the room livable at all, I was being blamed!
And it didn’t stop there. I made a light-hearted joke with the manager, which he completely misunderstood. He came up to my room, laid down in my bed, and asked if he could see my “big private part.” Ronnie, the manager, clearly cannot handle kindness – he turned straight to being perverse with me.
I had to politely explain that I am heterosexual, married, and the father of two children – and that I am not into men. He did not take it well. Instead, he started gossiping about me to a girl I know who also lives at the hotel, trying to portray me as a terrible guest.
All of this while he and his friends had been making noise late into the night the evening before, forcing me to knock on their door and ask them to be quiet because I had to get up early for a flight.
I am not a sensitive person – actually pretty easy-going most of the time – but I have to admit that my experience at One World One Home left its mark. I would never recommend anyone to spend even a single second...
Read moreMix emotions on this place, nice service and daily room service with water was great. I stayed for a month and it was tolerable but... Bed was extremely hard, TV was small and broken, horrible light and burnt out light in bathroom, had sugar ants, and the worst part was the thin walls. I got ear buds so things got better. I feel like I just got a bad room and I kinda delt with it like a champ. Low season price is worth it but anything over $23 a day, i wouldn't wanna go back even though the...
