After Nice afternoon on the beach we headed down to Rawai to eat at the WeCafe. We seen Costa was open and decided to eat there as we had not eaten there before. I commented to my wife how the menu looked excellent. We ordered garlic bread, garlic shimp and New Zealand muscles for starter, 2 burgers, Ceaser salad, shrimp cocktail and a steak for mains. 40 minutes later the non garlic rock hard stale bread showed up. So hungry we eat it. Then the garlic shrimp showed up which was OK. Then the NZ muscles showed up. I called the expat guy over and was waved away saying not him someone else. Then another expat came out. I asked him what the muscle dish was supposed to be as it was tasteless breadcrumbs covering the dry muscles. He apologised and took it away. Then the kids burgers came. No French fries. I asked the lady why we waited so long for this. With attitude she replied we have buffet. I told her this was not an excuse and not our fault and so far the food quality was poor. I cancelled the rest of the food and asked for the bill. They did not charge us as one would expect and she explained to my wife in Thai that there was issues in the kitchen. Costa Grill Restaurant. Sort your self out. You have the makings of a very nice restaurant. We should not have to cross the road and go to WeCafe. I understand we have and still are going thru hard times but today was the worst food and service attitude we have had post lock down. We will struggle to return. Sorry for the review but this cannot happen to other customers. Wish you...
Read moreOn our arrival at Costa Grill we were warmly greeted by staff and shown to our table. After ordering drinks we were served complimentary crisp bread and dip, a nice touch. Costa Grill is beautifully decorated, has numerous seating options, and has a very warm and inviting ambiance. We immediately felt very comfortable. We ordered lamb shank with fries and roast chicken with mashed potato. Unfortunately the lamb shank was served with mashed potato but we did not complain. Our meats were both fine, well seasoned and tender and the accompanying sauces complimented our dishes nicely. However, our meal was let down somewhat by the veg. The carrots were undercooked. And the mashed potato, probably the worst we have ever had, bland and watery with that distinct taste potato's have when they have been reheated, very disappointing to say the least. It was only the addition of the sauce that made them edible. Being a French establishment we were expecting the potatoes to be creamy and buttery but alas no. After finishing our meal we asked the waiter if we could see the menu again as we wanted dessert. Sadly there were no desserts displayed in the menu so we went without. Whilst the veg spoiled our meal somewhat we still enjoyed our evening. The French red wine was very good and the general atmosphere within the restaurant was very pleasant and relaxed. We will visit again, but next time no mashed potatoes! Our bill, with drinks, came to a very reasonable 1600 baht, and cards are accepted with...
Read moreThis looks like a nicer scale restaurant but we were extremely disappointed in the service and quality of food. I ordered a green curry and the chicken tasted a little bit off. I usually never complain but I could not force myself to eat the dish. There was also a slightly spoiled smell coming from the dish so I let the waitress know. I had only taken two spoonfuls of the dish and could not continue. The waitress spoke to her manager and the manager came and said that she would taste it. If it tastes fine to her then I’d have to pay for it still. She took it to the back to taste it and came back and she said “ma’am, the chicken is fine. Maybe the smell comes from the curry as we make our curry different here. But you can order another dish.” I wasn’t about to eat this dish so I waited 30 minutes for my waitress to notice and then ordered something else. the waitress brings the bill and does not take off the charge for the green curry. I just think the service was so terrible I definitely will not be...
