Generally, the hotel is quite good, room was nice and spacious, view is immense, and we were even given free upgrade. The bathroom is great and has lots of space. On arrival you are offered a free drink from the restaurant and sparkling wine was waiting for us in the room. Breakfasts were decent, nothing crazy, but variety of food is there, though not too sure why 25% of choice is dedicated to Indian cuisine only.
Ive had several lunches at Cosmo restaurant, the service was good and fast, food wasnt bad as well, could recommend if you stay there. Ive ordered pasta carbonara and waitress brought a leaflet with recipe and QR code leading to carbonara video cooking guide by restaurant's chef which is a nice twist.
Rock Salt restaurant on the other hand was worst experience Ive had in a restaurant on Phuket. The prices are high, but staff is very inattentive, slow, never seen a smile on their face and most of the time they were standing next to bar talking to each other. The food is not great either, beef tartar had a cooked egg in it, which was not stated in a menu and is questionable overall. Seabass was just average, Ive got much better seabass at rawai seafood market and it was 10 times cheaper there. Wanted to order a wine bottle from a special offering they had, it took waitress more than 5 minutes to realize the price is not effective anymore and actual price is 1.5x higher My father went to Rock Salt to have breakfast the other day, he was not impressed either and at that price point the restaurant is just bad.
The reason I give only 3 stars to hotel is that I am expecting to have hassle free vacation at this cost, but almost every day of our stay we found a paper describing which inconveniences the next day was going to bring us.
One day there is fire alarm testing, the other day one of restaurants is closed, next day there is elevator maintenance during the day (even though the time frame of maintenance was given, i dont want to plan around that and was unlucky enough to be coming back to hotel while lift was off, at least I had some cardio i guess), but I have no idea why you wouldnt service the only elevator you have during the night. During the whole stay the had some maintenance work around Cosmo restaurant which was noisy. But worst thing was water outage during the night, which we not even were given any notice off, so good luck if you want to wash your hands after toilet or use the toilet several time as there is no water to flush, as well as there is no water for bidet shower to clean the toilet in case there is mess after your number 2 (personal experience lol). At that price point I think its just ridiculous to receive these kind of inconveniences at that rate I would at least expect consistent water supply paying 360 USD per night, additionally the wifi was not the fastest, sometimes it wasnt fast enough to allow for video streaming services or using social media like TikTok, and we had to use cellular sometimes instead. However, they are capable to provide you with better internet, but you have to pay additionally which is also quite laughable.
I understand that I might have been unlucky with timing, as many maintenance services were conducted during our stay and perhaps when you visit the hotel, you wont encounter that, but I just cannot give more than 3 stars for...
Read more➖It can be a beautiful hotel in the movie, but the cleanliness is simply not commented on. The balcony of this Grand Ocean room is very large. The reason why it is basically unused is that the outdoor bed is very dirty. I can understand that it rains at night and is wet every morning. , over and over again, it has become moldy, and the hotel probably never cleans or replaces it, so this decoration is useless. I don’t know if anyone actually lies on it. In the final analysis, it is a problem with the entire design, and it will not be the case if there is an obstruction. It is recommended that if you really want to go, a normal sea view will suffice.➖The power was out for nearly two hours when I arrived. I had just finished boxing and could not take a bath or move at all (cold showers were not available). The hotel did not specifically indicate this, so this hotel cannot be considered a high-end hotel. Fortunately, the price is low season. It’s just a suitable experience like this. I thought about it later, luckily I canceled the SPA on the day I arrived 48 hours in advance, and the SPA's opening hours were only until 6pm:) If there was a power outage, there was no way to enjoy it.➖The hotel has complimentary morning activities, but when I went to cancel the next morning, I found out that they had not made a reservation for me at all. The guy who changed my room number could not find it at all. In the end, he said awkwardly that it was okay and it had been cancelled. By the way, The Nai Narn offers Muay Thai personal trainers, but I suggest you go to Chalong. First of all, I don’t know if their equipment is enough for Muay Thai private sessions, but the price is outrageous, but it’s 4 times the price of a normal Muay Thai private lesson.➖The bed is a personal factor. The edges of the pillowcase are quite annoying and prickly. Turning over in this bed is really tiring. Plus, there are all kinds of tiny sounds at night. It’s natural that I can’t sleep well. Not half as good as the bed at Baan Laimai.➕The scenery in Nai Harn is great. The view from the hotel is incomparably beautiful. It is very convenient to have beach umbrellas and beach towel services on the beach.➕Although the swimming pool is small, the scenery is beautiful. It is close to the breakfast restaurant Cosmo. After dinner, you can directly take a bottle of cold brew to the swimming pool. In addition, the swimming pool provides free ice water and ice cream, which is quite good.➕The room has Bluetooth speakers, yoga mats, and anti-mosquito spray, which is quite convenient.➕Finally, I have to say that the service in the whole hotel is the best, and the most worthwhile place to spend money is the breakfast and the Cosmo restaurant. The waiter can remember your breakfast seat every day. For the first breakfast, he will take you to a detailed breakfast to introduce all the dishes. In addition to ordering hot coffee, there are also three cold brew buffets. In addition to juices, there are also energy shots, homemade garlic cheese that you can’t stop eating, and a full breakfast variety, including pasta, vegetarian areas, and...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Nai Harn Hotel and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing especially considering the hotel’s claimed 5-star standard.
On one of the days, I went to the beach around noon. Almost all the sun loungers were already occupied, but luckily, I found two available ones for myself and my partner. After about 30 minutes, I realized that my lounger was completely in the sun, while the neighboring lounger was shaded. I tried adjusting the umbrella slightly to create some shade, but it didn’t work. After about 15 minutes, I attempted to move the umbrella a little to make it more upright and better protect me from the strong sun. At that point, two hotel staff members approached me and spoke to me very rudely. They told me that I was not allowed to touch the umbrella and that I should never do it again.
I remained calm and explained that I was only trying to find some shade because the sun at that time was extremely strong. Instead of helping, they showed me two other loungers but again, only one was in the shade, and the other was fully exposed to the sun. I kindly asked them if they could provide two loungers in the shade for me and my partner, but they just kept pointing to the same two loungers without offering a real solution. Feeling frustrated and unsupported, I gathered my belongings and moved to the pool area.
When I arrived at the pool, I found that almost every lounger was already taken — not by people, but by towels, shoes, and belongings, “reserving” the spots. Although there were about only 5 guests at the pool, almost 20-30 loungers were blocked. I was surprised and disappointed that hotel staff were not addressing this issue, which made it very difficult to find a place to relax.
Additionally, we had booked a Deluxe Room, which was significantly more expensive than the regular room my parents booked — mainly because it was my birthday. Sadly, apart from the ocean view, there was almost no real difference between the two rooms, which made the price difference hard to justify.
I have stayed at many hotels in Thailand and other countries, and honestly, I would rate this hotel more as a 3-star property rather than a 5-star. It’s unacceptable for a resort that accommodates over 100 guests to offer so few loungers, both at the beach and the pool, and to allow the “towel reservation” issue to go unchecked. Most disappointing of all was the staff’s unkind and unsupportive attitude when all I wanted was a simple, reasonable request — to enjoy my holiday in the shade.
For the price you pay at this hotel, it is truly disappointing not to be treated accordingly. Additionally, the spa services, the food, and the overall amenities are extremely expensive — and unfortunately, they do not offer the quality you would expect for such high prices.
I sincerely hope the hotel management reads this feedback and makes improvements, because the property has great potential, but the service, organization, and value for money currently do not meet 5-star...
