On The Rock Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Karon

We dined in here after parking our dingy at the dock, upon paying for our food we’re still told to pay the extortionate 150baht to use the dock, not that it’s a big deal but extremely over priced after buying lunch there. The food was quite tasty however the portions for the price is pathetic, the staff have zero personality and are quite rude it’s such a shame as this restaurant has so much potential but the staff need an attitude adjustment and the rules surrounding the price and use of the dingy dock need to change. They should Not charge you to use the dock if your going to eat at the restaurant all they’re doing is turning away business from all the yachts in the anchorage.

Spectacular view from the deck and. Well presented and tasty food although the staff and aggressive attitude towards use and payment for the dingy dock is really disappointing and all your told is if you don’t pay go use beach again such terrible attitudes from the staff. I would be furious if this was my restaurant and the staff were treating patrons...

We chose to have dinner and drinks here because of the location and sunset view. Although the ambiance is indeed nice, the service and quality of food is not on par. The servers were not attentive. 2 of the lady servers acted very annoyed when we sent back the very undercooked carrots for our 2 year old (despite specifying it should be very cooked). Even worse, the carrots came back after everyone was done with their meal. When I my toddler needed a change and I asked which bathroom has a changing table, the waitress was so rude and insisted that I just deal with what they have. The other waiter was kinder to offer to go to the hotel’s lobby where a changing table is available. To top it all off, the cocktails are so watered down you would think you were just sipping on fruit juice. Charging European prices for watered down cocktails is embarrassing. The food was average at best. It is really a shame when establishments just bank on their location...

This place used to be great. Go many times because food was consistent and good.

Their menu is gone now and they are using the menu and seating from the formally closed bar/restaurant thats below them. There was no food that interested me on the new tiny 2 pages of dishes. There was however about 12 pages of drinks, pint of local draft beer was 150baht for example.

I asked the waitress if she gave us the wrong menu but she couldn't hear me shouting half a meter away because they had live music so loud through the speakers. It wasn't even late yet, the sun was still up. We left, did not order anything.

If this is what the restaurant has become then I will not come back. Its unfortunate because this place...
