First the good. Rooms were good size, clean and great working ac. The bad ..... first impressions were good from the start of walking into a hot hotel, the poor staff have to work with no fan or ac. Maybe that explains why they weren't friendly. We had already been to Bangkok and Chiang Mai where all the staff and people we met were so nice and friendly. Than we get to the Royal P and felt unwelcome almost at least at the front desk and the restaurant. The restaurant had one cook at around 4p and wasn't prepared for customers. One couple walked in to try to order and walked out. We were hungry from traveling so stayed. The cook/waitress didn't write our order down so forgot to make an order than over charged for the food because she was adding in her head not paper, we just paid because the food is cheap to begin with. I will say the food she cooked was delicious so that was a plus. We ate the breakfast 2 days they were well prepared and ready with lots of food. The only downside it smellt like a cat sprayed in the dining room. Which with all the cats running around Thailand is a possibility lol. I can say the housekeeping a young man and young girl were super nice and friendly. The closest thing you cam walk to is old town Phuket which is a tourist trap, just expensive shopping . Everything else is so far away you have to take taxi depending on time of day could be $12 to $20 one way (in Chiang Mai was $1 per person so u can compare). Once we got to Karon beach was hard to find a taxi back because they said too far, luckily found one back. If I had a chance to go back to Thailand I would...
Read more3* for the hotel are strongly overrated. I booked with booking for 5 nighs, 2 days I had to work online. When I arrived I realized wifi is not properly working, it was crashing non stop on all my devices, neverending loading with errors (2 mobiles, 1 laptop). Next day in the morning I asked at reception to change my bookings (from 5 to 2 nights, so that I could go to other hotel). Reception rejected immediately, they even did not try to find some solution, were just repeating - no possible, no possible. I even asked to refund me only 2 nights instead of 3 but there were not helpful at all. I moved to other hotel anyhow. When I tried to solve with booking, I got reply that property was offering me another room and wifi was working - sadly I suppose that lying was a way how to keep money for 5 nights even when I stayed only 2 because of faulse information. Nevertheless in general - breakfast are poor, room is quite elderly (had room on 4th floor), noise coming to room all the time from corridors, upfloor, next room. Water in shower does no drain, there is no shield against the water during shower, stays even during night so when you go to toilet you step into the small lake and might slip, hot water not working at all. Definitely not recommended if you value your money - not...
Read moreSo my friend and I stayed there and we were very disappointed. She left a review on their page and they literally came on and argued with her saying what happened to us was a lie, hint it wasn’t. Any hotel who does that gets an immediate 1 star. The WiFi was sketchy. Despite them claiming it was okay and no one else complained (past reviews show MANY complaints about the wifi) if you have anything America the WiFi is an issue, the front desk English was soo limited it took you at least 5 minutes to have ANY conversation. They kept trying to book our car on the wrong day and asking any question led to them just staring at you and just saying “I’m sorry”. I tried to call down for more towels only for the receptionist to just say “I don’t understand” 5 times on the phone. We encountered another tourist and her friend who had very similar issues. I reached out to her to find out the hotel also tried arguing with her about her stay. Skip this hotel it was a struggle every single day. I truly bet they’ll try and argue with me once they see this...
