This is an incredible Thai restaurant with a homely atmosphere. It was walking distance from where I was staying so that's how I stumbled upon the place. And boy was that a good decision.
The Pad Krapao Moo is super reliable and always well made. It's definitely on the spicier side (which is how it should be I would say) so let them know if you don't want it super spicy.
I tried a couple of salads here and it was my first time trying any Thai salad that was not a Som Tam. I got one with Chinese sausage - the savouriness and chewiness of the sausage really goes well with the freshness of the cucumbers, tomatoes and onions. Their salad vinegarette is incredible and the tomatoes they use are so fresh and tasty. I wonder what a Marinara sauce made with these tomatoes would taste like, they were that flavourful.
I also tried a boiled shrimp salad, which was very good but I wish they'd seasoned the shrimp separately so it would've gone well with the fresh vegetables.
Tried the turmeric (that's what it said in the menu, maybe it was part of the batter?) fried fish. I don't remember now if it was a mackerel, sea bream or grouper but the pieces were flaky, perfectly seasoned and fried to a crisp.
They do have an English menu on request but I couldn't shake the feeling that it didn't have all the dishes. I think the clams or mussels are really famous here but I didn't get to try because the portion looked quite large and I was...
Read moreAfter trying many Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurants in Phuket, I expected much better from this place, especially since it’s been awarded multiple years in a row. Sadly, it was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had in this category.
The food quality simply doesn’t match the Michelin Bib standard. Ingredients didn’t taste fresh, and the flavors felt flat and uninspired. The tamarind prawn, which is priced almost double compared to similar dishes at other Bib restaurants, was a letdown — the prawns weren’t fresh and lacked that firm, juicy bite you’d expect.
The roast pork was another disappointment, nowhere near the level of Ji Hong.
For the price they charge, I expected something special, but it fell far below expectations. It’s overpriced, underwhelming, and not worth revisiting. I’ve removed this restaurant from my...
