In summary, 'are there better places to stay in Tunisia?'. My answer is 'Probably, but this place has a lot going for it nonetheless...' In terms of the general location, it's about midway between Jasmine Hammamet (the purpose built tourist spot - not worth a visit), and Hammamet (old town - well worth a visit). Also, about in the middle of El Jem and Carthage if you're doing day trips. Pros - Most of the staff cannot do enough for you. They're enthusiastic and seem genuinely engaged and interested in you having a great stay. Tipping, does of course, help. So many of the people we met said they were here for visit number 'X' which suggests the hotel is doing something right. There's an eclectic mix of French/German/English/Dutch/European as well as families, couples and solo travellers of all ages. Animation staff work harder than anywhere else I've seen!! From sun-up to long into the night. Nice, older hotel that's been looked after for a long time, with a direct line to the beach and sea front. Always sufficient sunbeds (in total) across the pool and beach. We've arrived a couple of times around 11 at the pool and got loungers in the shade, and the same for the beach. Never had any issues and still some spare later in the day. Self-service beer/water/coffee/soft drinks at the beach (though you'll have to fight the wasps for the latter). Free WiFi in most locations around the hotel, though it does drop out regularly. The aircon in our room whilst noisy (it's no exaggeration to say that it sounded like an October storm was lashing down), it easy effective (down as low as 16 degrees). The Shesha Cafe, if you can find it... Cons - You receive an information sheet upon arrival, but it's very basic and the last set of instructions you'll see for the entirety of your stay. Trying to find a table at breakfast/lunch/dinner can involve a lot of wandering around trying to make eye contact with the staff clearing/setting tables. Because of the high volume/turnaround at breakfast and dinner, the linen isn't fresh/clean/stain free. The menus are non-existent for bar/cocktail/restaurant/a la carte (a la carte is a good way to avoid the dining room melee, but other than picking your protein, you don't have a choice and only the Tunisian was any good IMO). You'll need mosquito spray and plug-ins for the room. There is no such thing as a diet/zero/slimline mixer, other than coke zero. You can't even pick one up in a supermarket - it's like it doesn't exist here. In conclusion, it's a fine establishment with areas in which to improve, but what it does, it does well and plenty of folks seem to keep coming back.

I absolutely loved my nine day stay in this hotel in June 2023. I travelled with my 60 year old mother and we stayed in a sea view twin room. I totally understand why people return to this hotel time and time again. The thing that truly makes this hotel is absolutely the staff. They are the friendliest I’ve ever met. From Bryan the pool guy with his jokes to Mouldi and the front desk team to Rio, Raf and the rest of the animation team. The wait staff and bar staff are amazing too. So are the housekeepers. The housekeeper did a fab job with our room every day and would regularly create cute patterns with our pyjamas on the bed. This property is very safe. We left our bags by our sun loungers by the pool and on the beach whilst going for lunch and it was always fine. The animation team really create a big programme so there is always something to do if you get tired of lounging around. Salsa, zumba, archery, bingo, etc. There’s also a library of books in various languages that people have left behind. The gym says open 09:00-19:00 but actually I went at 06:00 every day and it was open. There is a self-service laundry room but it only has one washing machine and it is often in use. The reception will help in booking trips such as trips to the Sahara Desert or to Sidi Bou Said. Had a great time on all of them and they include transfers directly from the hotel door. With this all being said, there are a few things that could be better in order for it to keep to a four star standard. For example, the WiFi is absolutely horrendous. It doesn’t work in most places apart from in the hotel lobby which is kept freezing cold so you don’t want to sit there for very long. Also, the selections of desserts is fabulous but the meal selections are a bit same-y when you’re there for a week. It can be a bit hit and miss - the moussaka was absolutely delicious but the mashed potato was so lumpy. You can book the beach front restaurant for the dinner but the service is VERY slow. It’s a pre-set menu. The table was at 19:00 and we still waited until 19:30 before the starter even arrived and by the time the main course came it was 20:25 and this happened all three times in this restaurant. These things however, would not stop me returning as overall, the hotel is fabulous and there was a really friendly family feel. The staff really could help you with anything.

Good points Most staff helpful Room average size Hot water a plenty Food good Drinks replaced quick Breakfast n dinner in main buffet restaurant, lunch and a la carte in beach restaurant Bad points Sunbeds: 5am and most were covered with a towel on the beach and poolside Not given towel cards, found out on day 4, then told not got any. Told by 9am they had run out. Took towel back in the morning as we were on the beach all day and got grumbled and told off in Tunisian, he was not for giving us new towels. Towels are like pixie dust here. Loo kept breaking,(3 times for me/4 times for mates) would not stop flushing and took hours or even overnight for maintenance to come out. No milk in room to make a drink with the coffee/tea/sugar sachets. Butter was in short supply often, never there at lunch. There was never spoons in all the bowls ...very frustrating. The other nationalities staying were often pushing in when most were queuing. Even taking food that was cooked to order. Asked about keeping a room later as we had a 9pm flight home, they want £80+. Wifi: in main reception/main restaurant, wifi was on/off in our rooms next to the beach. Lunch restaurant and beach there was no wifi. Beach drinks shack, and that was what it was; no fizzy pop all week, fruit juices stopped one day. Beer/water on tap. Never clean and tidy. Food shack by the pool: went at 4.30pm and after queuing while he made 1 crepe at a time i was told no paninis. They should serve till 6pm. Went to reception to check and they said yes he should be. Went back and he again said no. Advised him to get more breads and do his job. Rather than ring someone to get them he left the queue waiting for nearly 10 minutes. He returned with another staff member carrying the bread rolls.

Booked wiv TUI paid a lot less than I usually do for a 10 night all inclusive . Family group aged 70/35/22/16. This is a Tunisian hotel that caters for mainly French and Tunisian.|Check in - told us everything we needed and also a big sigh wiv all open times in English. You cannot pay tourist tax wiv Apple Pay. Just pay in pounds.||Room - traditional room Beautiful dome ceiling . Air con worked great . All functional, we do not spend time in our room so not too worried . Cleaned daily and cleaner comes back 3 to try and clean wish is great for my teen , we were given a joining room wish was amazing .||Drinks |You can help yourself to as much bottled water as you like .| No standing at the bar for ages here, staff run around taking orders and bring your drinks to you all night .The bar opens 24 hours !! Also 2|Bars to pick from.||Food|Breakfast- there is no English Breakfast . The choice is Pancakes, eggs or continental. Lots of English people wondering where the Pork bacon and sausage was in a Muslim country. There is no sliced bread or Lupack butter 🧈.||Lunch - my favourite meal at the beach restaurant. Waiters serve drinks they give you a bottle of wine in a bucket which was amazing . Buffet lunch wiv fresh baked pasta bar . I usually had a salad. There is also a pizza and stir fry bar . The way in Tunisia is to just shout what you want & it will appear . My kids loved the hot pizza every lunch beautiful setting . ||Dinner - this was more of a struggle there is salad and Tunisian food. There is a fresh BBQ meat and pasta bar but you do have to wait for this . Staff will get you a table & drinks . I was a bit dubious to go out but actually just outside the hotel they is a beautiful lantern lit restaurant Next time I will eat here for dinner a few time as 4 adults can eat and drink for £40 . If you want to go to main town the hotel will call you a taxi . ||A la cart Restaurant.|We visited here twice in ten days and you pick Tunisian, Italian or Asia . Set 4 course meal salad, soup, the pick you main from three and then a pudding . We loved the Italian the best but Asian was fine . You are allowed to go once but it if go to the bottom reception and ask they let u have extra visit if it’s not full.||Entertaining and activities.|We are not usually a family that gets involved but we did loads here . Banana boat on the beach . Darts, Aqua gym, Archery dancing, quizzes. If you want to go out & do quad bikes then talk to the entertainment team .|The team are amazing after 10 days I could have adopted Zand, Lou Lou and susuki. Whatever they are paying them it’s not enough they really added to the holiday . The evening entertainment had its own charm wd saw an acrobat team & the rest was team lead usual stuff. We all enjoyed the foam party at the beach & the white party night wiv fireworks.||Late night disco/club - the younger members of the family enjoyed dancing and drinking until 2am .||Security . Felt very safe here gated hotel security on the beach and patrols at night .||Beach - my favourite thing Amazing clear warm water wiv a dedicated swim area . Sun beds here all day . Not one for sun bed wars on holiday so didn’t get to the pool but usually beds here after lunch . The beach is so beautiful didn’t need a pool .||Just a bit of feedback for the hotel is a lot of younger hospitality staff (waiters/reception) did keep asking my 22 daughter for her social media details & this was not welcomed & maybe just a word needed . ||The only con of this Hotel is the breakfast & dinner for your average British 🇬🇧 person. ||This however is not enough to stop me coming back next year . Next year I will explore more , I will take British money . As you can’t use cards in the hotel to get currency . I wanted to tip at the end of my week but did not have any cash . This hotel is heads and shoulders above any Spanish hotel in...

Expectations had been dampened by less than approving comments. Yes there were a string of suspicious first time contributors on here singing the praises of the hard working animation team. Yes they (lots of them) had copious amounts of energy, always about, and made a lot of noise - except on Mondays, which appeared to be a deserved day off. All but one evening show were inhouse filled by guests, ie karaoke, Miss Hotel. |So some positives - the beach area, gardens, seating areas inside and out and drinks were really decent. There is an unmanned excuse of a 'drinks station' on the beach. Beer trickled out when the tap worked, coffee machine was often broken and water wasn't replenished until 11am. When all sorted good luck finding a glass or cup. |Here's what else we found - on arrival nop written information so we had to chase around to find things. It was 10-30pm but we found the minimal all night food selection. One of the container lids was broken so the veg was cold and the desserts were out in the open. Only if you are desperate. |The rooms were very dated, makeshift repairs, drawer broken. It was even a chore getting the room card to open the door. The balcony was huge, we loved it, we had a great sea view and the air conditioning worked well. Beds comfy and so big me and missus slept in different postcodes. Quality. Difficult to charge mobile devices as no usb ports - you need a double adapter and basically unplug a bedside lamp for simplicity.|The WiFi? Lolol good luck. Worse than useless unless in reception. Suggest you buy eSIM and install at home day you before arrive.|Food? Compared to last three hotels we've been to in Tunisia in past 14 months we were very, very disappointed. Ok it was not good, repetitive, tasteless and a lot of cheap cuts. Not as many choices in the rather dark indoor dining room. There is also an outdoor beach restaurant and food van (this was good) for lunch but usual trait, food often stone cold. Breakfast? Omelette and eggs station was a painful experience, so slow. One man or woman on the case. Queues were large at times. Toaster ? Lololo. Don't bother unless you've half a day to spare. Then the curious case of the lack of butter. Ok plenty for breakfast but not a sliver at lunch or dinner. Asked several people for some, each replied with abrupt 'no' and walked off. Basically 'bribed' a kindly waiter to find me some...hard, stale, bread rolls need butter. I was told 'there is a problem with butter.' And apparently there is across the country. Google it. When the special freshly cooked food station at dinner is offering sausages you might have had at lunch it speaks volumes. Sausages !!!! But they were delicious. |We booked the al a carte Italian night which was perfect until we got beyond the salad and soup. Who eats 5oz of cold pasta with three pieces of dubious chicken? We ditched the main meal and moved on to the sweet. The lemon meringue was anything but. We finally gave up and headed to the dining room to eat. Poor.|Plenty of sunbeds on the gorgeous spotless beach - it is such a lovely setting and a major plus - and around the very (too) deep pool but you needed to be quick to get pool towels (once you've found where to get them).|Btw if you wish to keep your room on for a few hours at the end of your stay you can - it's approx £90.|Staff ? As you would expect they generally can't do enough for you but quite simply they are over stretched, there just isn't enough soldiers on the ground. However, the serving folk in the reception bar really need to cheer up.|Sorry if there's many negative vibes but I'm very benevolent and honest in reviews (see my record on here) and that's how I found it. You may find it's your cup of tea. This is very much a three star hotel. I won't...

First time for us for an all inclusive holiday never mind last minute and in Tunisia.  We just needed some October sunshine at a reasonable price and we certainly got that.  Now for the review … I should start by saying we had a fantastic week and will almost certainly return, and probably to this Hotel.  But why only a four star review? For starters this is more like a good four star hotel , not five star.  Customer service and attention to detail are two of the things which make a real five star hotel stand out and this is where it falls short.  There is no warmth whatsoever from the reception and/or senior staff and a good number of the rest have the demeanour of employees who have been sacked but told to work out their notice in full!  A little effort ( and charm ) however produces results in terms of getting most of the staff to engage ( or even smile ) but it shouldn’t have to be that way.  Overall though the guys around the pool and beach bar plus most of the staff in the restaurant did a great job. As for the wee bits of detail which let the place down, I would say the room cleaning could have been better ( replacement of minibar drinks and towels was erratic and on several occasions our French windows at ground floor level were left totally unlocked despite us securing them every morning ).  There are some signs of wear and tear which a five star hotel just would not tolerate but none such that they interfered with our enjoyment or comfort .  The rooms themselves are big, the king size bed very comfortable, and there is plenty of cupboard space ( but are just two coat hangers really enough for two people ? ).  As for the grounds they are vast and well kept.  The pool and beach area is good and I particularly liked being able to either lap swim in the decent sized pool or just walk a few yards and swim in the warm sea.   Now for the really good bit.  The food.  We expected the worst but in truth were blown away by the sheer amount , variety and quality of what was produced at breakfast , lunch ( in particular ) , and dinner.  We are fussy eaters/foodies and part of our normal holiday would include research into, and dining at , good local restaurants but we were constantly amazed at what was on offer.  I couldn’t list everything but stand outs were the meat and fish off the charcoal bbq and the deserts ( some photos attached ).  There really is something for everyone.  As for the wines I’d give the rose a solid 9/10 but the red and white maybe a 5/10 or at most 6/10.  I did like the fact that no supplements were levied at any time whether for drinks or any food and so the term all inclusive really means that here.  You can source something to drink and/or eat pretty much 24/7.  Aside from the main restaurant, there is an a la carte restaurant which needs to be pre booked with, bizarrely, the menu choices pre selected at time of booking.  We tried it once but frankly preferred the main buffet restaurant given the sheer choice and quality of what was on offer.  And so we promptly cancelled the second night that we had booked.  I am glad we visited slightly off season as we experienced a very good holiday for a bargain price ( as I said at the outset we will almost certainly return ) , but I can see that during peak times with a full hotel there may well be...
