We bought holiday from Sunway !!! At the beginning we had delayed 4 hours. When we arrived to hammamet it was 5 a.m. On the street were a lot of people . In hotel we just comlete a form and get a key to our room. New day was the worst day in Tunesia . We went out to find some shops with food it was so hard because we looked for some more then Tunesian Mini Market . But one man from the shop with souvenirs told us when to look for bread, milk and rest things . It wasn't that bad . We found a lot of good things to eat from the Tunisian specials .||The Royale Residence - staff in hotel were friendly and helpful. ||The rooms - we had one bedroom apartment . ROOMS were big and clean . In apartment we had tv , frige, cooking rings , pots, plates , glass, hair dryer . Every room had balcony with 2 chairs and table . The balcony were so big .|| The rooms were clean, and the lovely ladies cleaned rooms every day. || The swimming pool is big and clean bUt you have too pay for sunbeds. Its always waching by a life guard . Its so nice man always smiling and talking to you !!! ||The beach is nice but sometimes it;s not clean . There was 2 days with yellyfish but Tunesian people take it from the sea and put under the sand to kill them . It wasn;t a lot of it . The water was warm. There was a aqua gym on the beach usually between 11-12 . It was so fun.||BAD NEWS iS THAT BETWEEN rOYAL RESIDENCE AND LE HAMMAMET HOTEL( THERE ARE A SISTERS HOTEL) I SAW A RAT - THERE ARE A GARDENS THERE .||We didn't like the old medina in hammamet . There was a lot of people and it wasn't safe there. It's so poor place.||In new resort Yasmine Hammamet there are a lot of arabic wich they will say that they are a waiter in your hotel and they have a free day and also that you don't remember them because they look different with out the uniform - 100% of the time they will not be your waiter . SO BE AWARE OF THAT || We also went to sahara trip it's amazing what you can see on the way and the best thing is ride on camel on Sahara!!! Even I was afraid of that animal I miss my white camel right now:(||||I DO NOT RECOMMEND TO EAT ICECREAM AND FRUITS IN RESTAURANTS AND BARS BECAUSE I WAS SICK AFTER IT !||||Also I don't recommend the Sunway Travel Agency .||The resident didn't care about us the return flight was again delayed .||And you can hear thats the first time but if you ask other people you hear that every week the flights are delayed .|| I enjoyed my holiday and i hope so i will be back there in future !!!!||||Greetings to lifeguard on the...
Read moreI’d give this place 8 stars. To begin Mehdi the MD of the Royal picked us up at the airport and on the journey along side my 19-year-old son Finbar, acquainted us with all we needed to know at that point re Hammamet. Tunisian born, Mehdi's English is perfect as is his French and Italian and you’d be hard pressed to find anyone who knows more about this country than him. We woke the next day, our lovely spacious room (approx. 50 euros a night) overlooking a rather large pool that, the perfect temperature, we discovered was so fresh that even the hotel cat drinks from it. ||Immediately we were welcomed into the ‘family ‘- chef Karim, waiter bar man Malek and this spent most of our two weeks sitting by the pool even though the long white beach, which we visited on 5 occasions, was a 10-minute walkaway. You don’t get sand in your pants by the pool while food supplied and delivered from the excellent restaurant Da Noi a few doors up was spot on in very sense. A simply superb host Mehdi drove us the Carthage (a massive Roman spa/ leisure centre for the last 2000 years) and the amazing Sidi Bou Said, the astounding horseshoe bay Kelibia, The Roman Water temple and provided an unimpeachable history of every landmark, and conurbation on the way. He advised us on prices took us to a Hammam, arranged a local tailor to copy a prized shirt. To add the street where is sits is a lovely friendly thoroughfare where the products are price marked and better than in the Souk, the shop keepers are just nice and do not hassle while there are a brace if restaurants that are excellent even by my hi faluting central London standards .All in all, we’ve made a friend for life while his hotel is just perfect for our needs- big very clean spacious airy, air-conditioned suites with a cooker, fridge, shower and bath and beds almost 3 metres square covered in 100%cotton sheets. In short I could not recommend this hotel enough, that, worth far more than its cost, is a true gem. I’m coming...
Read moreThe Royale Residence was amazing - the staff at the apartments were so friendly, clean and helpful although basic we didn't watch much TV but abit more than CNN would have been nice - Riad and Larry are the best bar guys in town!!! The rooms were spacious and clean, and the lovely ladies cleaned and made beds - although they never dusted!! Watch out for the 'captain' he sells Pirate Boat trips and camel rides - where they are amazing he is relentless as soon as you arrive at the reception. (I would recommend the pirate boat if you like diving off of boats far out at sea!) Health and safety is not in Tunisia so they plant these metal hoops in the ground which take you by surprise if you are not expecting them,||||We went half board and so we ate our breakfast and evening meals at the sister hotel. After one week the food was getting boring there is only so much veal stew and wild boar I can eat!!! The Animation team were FANTASTIC memo, bryem and Scooby (and please do not forget Samira who runs the mini club - she does the best henna freehand tattoos going) Scooby and his Michael Jackson feet were so amazing to watch - also there comedy acts had me and my hubby howling (anyone who watches the doctor sketch and Day-O will know what I mean).||||The daily market in the medina in old hammamet is to be met with a steel heart and a forceful La (no in arabic) then they will ignore you and continue to tell you they give you good price - don't be forced - be firm, polite and if they still continue we got advised to threaten them with the police. They think that we think they all look the same so they will say that they are a waiter in your hotel - please be aware of this!! 99.9% of the time they will not be your waiter and they are either on the look out for sales or wish to take your dinar.||||I enjoyed my holiday but...
