My mother stayed at this place for 15 days (March 26th to April 9th) and I joined her the second week. Our room was on the 4th floor. Clean rooms with daily room cleaning.
Breakfast was good with boiled eggs٫ different cheese, honey, fresh veggies, olives, turkish coffee, milk and orange juice, tea, bread, no fresh scrumbled eggs or other styles.
Awful air conditioning in the rooms. We felt trapped in the room. The air conditioner was central and over some days that was hot, I asked if we could decrease the temperature for air conditioner and switch it to cooler but I was told to turn off the air conditioning system in the room and open the window which we could smell the nasty odour of frying/burning food and smoking cigarrette comming from the air duct of the bar next to the hotel. That air duct tip, on the roof of that bar was weirdly angled toward the windows of the hotel instead of upward and we were able to smell and see the smoke of any kind of frying/cooking/burning even with close windows.
For the most helpful and nice staff but with minimun to zero English spoken that made it hard to communicate with them.
Location wise, close to bars and restaurants and USA embassy medical but 15 min drive from USA embassy.
The hotel looks brand new and remodeled however the windows are not double paned glass, despite the fact that our room was on the 4th floor, we clearly could hear the noise from the super busy bar named Route next to the hotel on the south west side of the building until 2 AM and at 5 AM we could hear even louder Azan from the mosque. The single paned glass windows could not prevent the frying odour from the next door air duct to come in. That's the main complain I had during my stay.
I recommend this place but definitely request for rooms on the last floor and on the north western side as away as it's possible from the Route bar where you can hear people's karaoke singing over the night ad smeling the frying from the air duct. It's a nice place to stay and I hope they work on these problems I mentioned above to make it more enjoyable stay for...
Read moreThis hotel did not really meet 4-star standards.Pros:- The location is good, next to a lot of restaurants and cafes.- The WiFi is quite stable.- Breakfast has a few more vegetarian options than other hotels in Turkey.- Valet service was very helpful.- Some staff were friendly.- Good value for money as the rates are lower than most 4-star rated hotels. However, if you read on, you’ll see that we got what we paid for.Cons:- Most of the staff did not speak English. Google translation can only help to some extent but it gets too tedious overtime as clarifications have to be made constantly. We could not make any requests over the phone without encountering inconveniences. I had asked twice for 2 plates, forks and spoons using Google translate but both times, they brought me one plate with a knife and fork, I never got the spoon I wanted…We also called twice at checkout for someone to come help with our bags but no one came because they didn’t understand our request.- The bathroom did not meet hygiene standards. The ceiling had water damage and was broken in some places. There were brown stains on the toilet and a lot of dirt in the corners. Dust had collected on the bathroom amenities. No toothbrush or toothpaste were provided.- Towels and bedsheets had stray hairs and looked like they hadn’t been changed.- The room was a little too crammed and had no working space except for a vanity.- There was a smart TV but no streaming services.- Service quality was inconsistent. Some staff were friendly, others did not smile and weren’t very helpful. Overall, we would not recommend this hotel. After reading Google reviews, we were also quite taken aback to learn that guests were asked to produce marriage certificates if they came as a couple. This will probably turn away a lot...
Read moreWe stayed at the Sky Hill hotel for 4 days, and it was a wonderful experience. This new hotel is in a great location in Kizilay, the center of Ankara, within walking distance to all restaurants and shopping places. A note for future guests: the hotel has a policy that unmarried couples are not allowed to stay. While this is a business decision that some might agree or disagree with, it’s important to be aware of it. The rooms were very clean, and the staff were helpful. I would especially like to mention the general manager, Mr Ezgin, who was very knowledgeable and service oriented. I witnessed him helping serve at breakfast and ensuring that guests had everything they needed. The breakfast was great with a good variety of options, including soup. As lovers of Turkish tea, we appreciated that it was always available on the 1st floor. We stayed at another hotels in Ankara, and in my opinion nobody can beat its price and quality. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. On our next visit to Ankara, we will stay at Sky Hill...
