GRAND SİLAY HOTEL — Hotel in Çankaya

I stayed at this hotel for 2 and a half weeks. Guest are not allowed at the hotel unless you pay for their visit. Even if the guest was not staying for the night you still had to pay. I didnt use the spa service so I have no comment regarding that.

Staff: The staff were all friendly and helpful. Even though their ability to speak english was limited (some staff were able to speak more or less than others), they still were friendly and did their best to accommodate me despite the language barrier. The cleaning lady on my floor (floor/kat 5) was very friendly too (also not knowing much english. The doorman helped me with my luggage checking in and also helping me connecting to the wifi.

Room: I reserved a standard room. Its perfectly enough space for 1-2 people. The room was clean and neat when I arrived and they have a mini refrigerator with soda and water in them. Drinking the soda cost money , however the water is free. The bathroom was sufficient, however, the shower was a little small but no big deal there. Also their was an rotten egg smell coming from the bathroom at times.

Service: Laundry service in my opinion was a bit expensive but they do all the work for you. taking your clothes, washing, drying, and then folding them and returning them back to your room and wow my clothes smelled really good after receiving them. Internet was a bit inconstant at times but it wasnt too slow. Room service sometimes was slow. I time I had an order for coffee and it never arrived, and my order for tea one day arrived after 30mins. But the tea, in my opinion, was amazing. Shuttle service back to the airport was fast and cheap and they will drive you personally to there at anytime.

Breakfast/food: As a foreigner, I am not a fair judge by judging something I am very unfamiliar to eating. So to me it was not all so good. They had cereal, boiled eggs, and other common breakfast things but the mostly served Turkish breakfast staples like cheese, yogurt, and some vegetables. Again, something I was not familiar to after being so used to american breakfast.

It is a great hotel. The location is only a 5min walk from kizilay station if you are planning to visit alot of locations around Ankara. I would definitly...

We had booked a room with 2 twin beds, but unfortunately, the hotel reception gave our room to someone else and gave us a full bed instead. When we declared that it was wrong, it was lying that the whole rooms are full bed. With more emphasis from our side, telling us that we will change the room tomorrow morning. Tomorrow morning they said to come down at around 12 noon so that the room will be changed. When we said again at 12 o'clock, they said we will change it at 14 o'clock. In the first room, the safe didn't work, the bathroom didn't close, the closet didn't open, and the light in the room was low, but the internet and heating were good because it was on the 5th floor. The second room, which was on the first floor, had good light, but the internet did not work at all, and you had to leave the room to use the hotel's internet. The heating system was poor, so we mostly froze to warm up. The breakfast was good, the rooms were clean, the behavior of the staff was good except for 2 people who were very rude and did not answer the questions correctly. The head of the hotel reception team was a good person who delivered our room when they realized our problem. Unfortunately, most of the staff do not speak English. Because we need internet for our work, we preferred to spend the rest of our stay in another hotel. If I want to come again, I will not...

Kahvaltı berbat, çeşit çok az ve çay musluk suyundan yapıliyor Biz (anne ve kız) uçak biletleri yuzunden iki gece kalmak zorunda kaldık, havayolu biletiyle ilgili sıkıntımız oldu ve bir gün uzatmak isteyince, resepsiyon bizi arayıp çok kaba bir şekilde çıkmak zorunda olduğumuzu soyledi ve uzatma kabul etmeyeceklerini dediler biz şok olduk , inip mudurle konusmak istedik ama bizi küçümseyen bir tavirla boşuna beklettiler ,sonra tepeden tepen umursamaz bir tavirla karşıladılar, hepsi üstümüze geldi , biz anne kız birden ortada kaldık eşyalarımızı zor topladık otel muduru kesinlikle nezaket kuralar dışında davranarak tepeden konşarak sigarasını içerek "bize gurup gelecek hemen çıkın" dedi. Hayatımda boyle bir muşteri hizmeti hiç şahit olmadım. Otelin müdürü normalde çözüm bulması gerekirken,ve ne olursa olsun kim olursa olsun müşteri memnuniyeti saglamak icin elinden geleni yapma kurali vardir saygili kurumlarda gurup gelecek diye olan muşteriye apar topar kovar tavir la çikarmaya calişmaz, umursamaz bir şekilde çıkmamızı istedi..çok kırıcı bir olaya şahit olduk kızımla .. biz dünyanın çeşitli yerlerinde bir çok otelde kaldık ama böyle kötü bir servis ve hizmet hiç şahit olmadik. Müdürle konuşunca "burası merkezi bir ötel bizim yorum kaygımız yoktur" dedi. Yani müşteri memnuniyeti onlar için hiç önemi yok. Biz bu oteli asla be katen tavsiye etmiyoruz .

Do not take the good reviews in consideration because they offer a 10 percent discount to those who leave a positive comment. A very Filthy and disgraceful hotel, i do not recommend it to anyone! We were met with Extremely rude staff, they had no respect for customers. There was a very disgusting and disturbing smell in the rooms and the bathrooms were literally decaying! The breakfast was very poor, the options were limited and food was not fresh, they also use tap water to make the tea. The hotel receptionist and the manager were extremely harsh and impolite.. ive stayed in many hotels in different parts of the world and i have never seen such terrible customer service. When i raised my complaint to the manager he replied with "we are located in the city, we arent bothered about the reviews we get". So a customers satisfaction does not matter to them at all.
