Read moreThe staff are extremely friendly and very helpful, they’re happy to do whatever they can to help wherever they can with whatever it is you need. From the moment you arrive the staff are helpful, happy to help carry bags inside and take them up to your room for you and when you leave help to take them outside to the coach for you even helping to carry heavy bottles of water for you. The room was clean and comfortable, maids come every day and are extremely friendly. Not a large hotel but very comfortable, the pool area is small but pleasant with a separate area if you’re just looking for somewhere peaceful to sunbathe and relax. I didn’t eat breakfast there as I decided to just make my own in the kitchenette attached to the room but I did regularly go for dinner at the corner restaurant which is attached and a part of the hotel and the staff were very pleasant and the food was phenomenal. Already looking to return next year, wasn’t expecting much when I first booked but it turned out to be genuinely one of the most pleasant places I’ve stayed. In a great location, close to the beach though can be a bit tricky to find but taxis are easy to call for with literally the press of a button (buttons are located on streets and a taxi will almost immediately turn up, one outside of the doors of the hotel and one at the corner of the street) and cheap and it is surrounded by restaurants and shops in every direction. The only fault I had with my experience was nothing to do with the hotel at all, only the heat as it is extremely strong and was perhaps a bit much for me but the air con (that is an extra charge but worth it) made up for the heat outside. Beds were the most comfortable I’ve experienced in a hotel and the pillows especially...
Read moreThis was rated as 4.5* and there’s no way this is correct. More like a 2* rated hotel. Good location to close by shops and beach.
The wifi was dodgy worked when it wanted and had to keep asking staff to sort.
We paid for full service including pool and air conditioning etc upon arrival the staff wanted 120 lira extra per day to activate the AC. We showed them paper work that it was all paid for but it appears the staff are making side earnings by ripping off their customers. We then paid extra 1120 lira for AC!!
The staff are dodgy behind the counter always looking for opportunities to make side earnings from customers.
We asked the best place place to buy a local sim and they sent us to a place nearby called TURKCELL. When I got there the 3 girls there wanted 1200 lira for 2 SIM cards. I felt they were expecting us. I left shop to try a few others to see if that was normal rate or if I could get better.
All other shops were selling a Tourist SIM card with more call time etc for same 3 month duration for 300 lira. So it appears the staff at Mayflower hotel are once again trying to enhance their earnings and are connected with staff at TURKCELL shop who tried to charge us 3x more for the same tourist SIM card available everywhere.
Secondly, we were expecting a tour guide agent at 11:30 which was part of the holiday booking. The staff at the counter called in another agent from TUi and then told us the agent is here an hour before. We booked some tour events but realised afterwards when the real tour guide turned up that the first one ripped us off for 1000 lira etc fir same tours.
So be careful with the counter staff as they are constantly on the case to make extra...
