Based on my recent stay I liked Centric in a number of ways particularly the rooms which are of significantly higher quality build than Park Hyatt and Grand Hyatt Istanbul, however the room was too dark and the suite was simply a larger room so I would not rank Hyatt Centric at the top of best hotels in the city.
I booked the entry level room and as Globalist I received an upgrade to a King Suite. The room was clearly more luxurious than the aging suites at Grand Hyatt, and had nice hardwood floors and very high ceilings although unfortunately the windows did not extend all the way up to the ceiling and it contributed to making the room quite dark; the color scheme did not help either. There was a nice glass window in the bathroom next to the bathtub to give a modern feeling and it somewhat helped lighting over there.
Since the hotel was fairly low occupancy, I am assuming that they had a wide choice of suites to give us, and unless all suites are on low floors in this hotel, it would have probably been better if they gave us a suite higher than just the second floor; consequently we had no view of anything.
One advantage of Grand Hyatt over Hyatt Centric is that the suites at GH are quite large at 80 sqm. At Hyatt Centric the entry level rooms are 30-39 sqm and the deluxe rooms are 40-45 sqm, so while receiving a suite upgrade at HC was appreciated, since suites are only 50 sqm receiving an upgrade to a deluxe room or a suite would not make much of a difference. Bottom line I would absolutely not advise paying a significant premium in cash for the suites over the lower categories of rooms at this hotel and in the future if I want more space for a particular stay, GH would be my choice within Hyatt despite the hotel being a far older property. If I compare Hyatt Centric to Park Hyatt, suites at PH are also quite small and dark so HC wins because of it’s a newer construction and the room is built to a higher standard. Interestingly HC also has a lower price tag which is one more reason why HC is easily better than PH in my opinion, whereas compared to GH it depends on priorities.
At check-in I asked if breakfast was available as room service or if it was restaurant only; during covid times I appreciate being given the option but unfortunately I was told it was restaurant only. There was no buffet and everything was a la carte which is a nice luxury feature, and the restaurant design itself was attractive and cozy; I really liked the huge aquarium behind the bar. The odd thing about refusing in-room dining for breakfast is that to order our breakfast, they told us to use the QR code and to select what we wanted from …. the room service menu! So if we must pick room service then it would not have been a huge extra effort to bring it to us in the room. Oh well. The breakfast quality was good and the entire bill was comped as the Globalist breakfast benefit.
Overall we had a comfortable stay but this property has some weaknesses. In this price range the suites at Conrad have beautiful views of the Bosphorus because the hotel is on a hill, and Conrad’s suites are more spacious than HC. There is also some value in having a lounge so that’s a plus for Grand Hyatt which also has larger suites than Centric, the compromise being that the rooms at GH are old. I could have accepted smaller suites at Hyatt Centric if the room had been perfect but it was too dark to my taste and no views. I will not be opposed to returning in the future and if there was limited hotel competition in Istanbul I would not be as critical. But given the wide selection of good hotels from Hilton, Marriott and Accor chains in Istanbul, we have the luxury of being able to pick the best of the best. Hyatt Centric is above average in some ways but it does not belong in the top hotels...

Unfortunately this is where it ends. Anything else in this hotel does not reflect a Hyatt quality.
Toilet flush was broken, and when we reported to receptionist (I think his name is Serhan or something like that) nothing happened. Nothing was followed up till evening time until we had to approach a Housekeeper gentleman nearby who assisted us by calling Engineering. 👎👎👎
When we asked for extra bottled water they simply told us we needed to pay for it. While I understand this is their policy, but other Hyatt hotel in Istanbul happily provided few bottles extra complimentary. 👎👎👎 We decided to just grab a small gallon of drinking water from next door grocery shop to save the hassle. Something that didn't happen in the other Hyatt we stayed.
When our flight got rescheduled from 4 PM to 10 PM, we requested to a later check out flexibility but the unattentive Front Desk (no name tag but he is tall and well-built) coldly told us "No, you can't have later than 1 PM" without even trying to understand the situation, let alone provide alternative solution. 👎👎👎 He said the hotel is fully booked, a classic excuse...regardless the hotel still accepting reservations through online booking portals. For real, does he think he can fool people? We managed to get a slightly later check out at 2 PM with the help from the only helpful Front Desk HASAN AKBAŞ. He is the only person in Front Desk who smiles and seemed to be willing to help guests.
The spa area was also confusing. They have 3 different floor for spa facilities. We came to see the facilities and the Asian guy who greeted us said "Feel free to walk around", and so we did. But when we reached treatment floor, one female staff (I think she's the masseuse) approached us in an unpleasant manner saying "You should not be here, this area is only for spa guest" Well, I was thinking to get a Balinese Massage but thanks to her I changed my mind knowing I wasn't welcomed there even I was staying as a guest in-house.
Attention to Training / Quality Manager Please, train the concept of "going the extra mile" which seemed to be non-existent in this property. It's a disappointment that Hyatt Centric is not a guest centric property...especially compared to other Hyatt hotels...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hyatt Centric Levent Istanbul, and I can confidently say that it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I stepped into the stunning lobby, I could tell this was no ordinary hotel. The beauty of the property, with its modern design and luxurious ambiance, instantly made me feel like I was in the heart of one of the world’s most vibrant cities.
What truly set my experience apart was the exceptional atmosphere and the wonderful staff. Every team member I encountered went above and beyond to ensure that I felt welcomed, comfortable, and well taken care of. Their hospitality was truly unmatched—friendly, professional, and attentive in every way. It’s not often you feel like you’re staying at a place that genuinely cares about making your trip memorable, but Hyatt Centric Levent definitely delivered on that front.
The location itself was perfect for exploring Istanbul, and the hotel provided an ideal base from which to discover the city. The convenience, comfort, and overall quality of the hotel made my trip to Istanbul that much better. Without a doubt, if you’re considering visiting Istanbul, I would highly recommend staying here. It’s hard to imagine staying anywhere else, and when I return to this incredible city, I will only choose Hyatt Centric Levent.
The hotel’s amenities were top-notch, with a fitness center that provided everything I needed for my workouts. The gym was well-equipped, clean, and offered a fantastic space for exercising after a long day of sightseeing. The lobby, on the other hand, was a beautiful and inviting space to relax or meet with friends and colleagues, complete with stylish décor and a lively atmosphere.
One aspect I particularly appreciated was the hotel’s attention to safety. The presence of a metal detector at the door gave an added layer of security that made me feel safe and secure throughout my stay, and I noticed other safety features around the hotel as well. It’s reassuring to know that the hotel is committed to ensuring the well-being of its guests.
Overall, I cannot thank the Hyatt Centric Levent Istanbul enough for providing such an amazing stay. From the welcoming staff to the luxurious accommodations and attention to detail in every aspect of the experience, it was everything I could have hoped for and more. I truly appreciate and enjoyed every moment of my time here, and I highly recommend it to anyone...
