This is the second time I am staying in this hotel (1st time was 8 years ago) and it’s still pretty good. We stayed here for 5 nights. It is literally 2 min from the grand bazaar and the tram station. It’s 10 min walk to the metro station and about 15-20 min walk to the blue mosque and Hagia Sophia. Location wise, if you’re a tourist to Istanbul, this is a good place to stay.
The area is a little noisy since it’s in a tourist district but quietens down significantly after 9pm.
The front desk is generally manned by Savas and Ertan. Both speak good English, were very respectful and are very helpful. They encourage you to ask questions and are always eager to find answers and provide meaningful suggestions to make your stay and activities more enjoyable. Ozan, the manager of the hotel was also there and he was very helpful looking up restaurants for us and printing directions.
The hotel have a lovely roof top terrace where breakfast is served daily. Halil, Mustafa and Muhammet manage the bar and breakfast area. We were told that the bar is now open 24 hrs. We did not have any drinks at the bar though. Mustafa and Mehmoot provided very good service and were always eager to help with anything we wanted. Both of them and also Halil were just happy people who enjoyed interacting with guests and serving them.
The rooms are a little smaller, but was clean and the housekeeping did a fairly good job of tidying up the room.
The breakfast was included in the rate we had. However, compared to the previous visit, this time they seem to have introduced a €2 charge for making eggs your way and also the same price for Turkish coffee. Personally, I was not a fan of this charge model. However, the breakfast had generally 2-3 hot items, fresh salad bar, eggs, breads, coffee, tea juice and fruits. We did enjoy our breakfast.
The hotel does not do laundry, but works with a laundry service. The cost is around $5 for kg of clothes which is pretty steep compared to other places that I have seen that charge a flat fee for a bag of clothes. Also, no guarantees that your exact clothes will come back. We received someone else’ pair of socks instead of ours when we got the laundry back. Obviously the hotel does not have control of this and don’t accept responsibility for what clothes come back.
The WiFi worked pretty well during our stay and the signal strength throughout the hotel was strong. The room is stocked with coffee / tea, a hot water kettle and a refrigerator. The bathroom also has basic toiletries.
Travel trip : if you’re flying into IST, which is pretty far from the city, apart from taxi, there are also HAVAIST buses (about $4) that run 24 hrs between the airport and city. The bus stop near the hotel (3 min walk) is called Beyazit Meydan. This is the most economical way. However during the hours of 10am to 9pm (if your flight lands during that window), the bus stop near the hotel is closed. Outside of those hours, you will be able to board and alight from HAVAIST buses.
Overall it was a good stay. The interaction with the staff at the...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel with my family during peak summertime - first week of July 2025, having booked around six weeks in advance—and I’m so glad we did. The ambience was absolutely gorgeous, with beautifully styled interiors that gave the place a warm yet modern feel.
The rooms were appropriately spacious, very clean, and well-kept. I really appreciated the hotel’s environmental initiatives, like the option to only replace towels if left on the floor, and the water dispensers available on each floor, which saved us from using single-use plastic bottles. It’s little touches like that that make a difference.
The housekeeping staff were lovely—so friendly and respectful. I asked if they could come by a little later since we were catching up on sleep, and they were really understanding. I also liked the door hangers to let them know whether or not you wanted to be disturbed.
The front desk team were fantastic too. Super welcoming, fluent in English, and made check-in a breeze. The manager was equally lovely—really attentive and helpful throughout our stay.
The only downside was the bathroom design—there was no lock on the door and ventilation could definitely be improved. I’ve already passed this feedback on directly to the hotel, but it’s worth noting for future guests. Another small improvement I’d love to see is the placement of the air conditioning unit. It’s positioned directly above the pillows, a bit too close to where your head would normally rest, so we didn’t feel much airflow while sleeping. We actually ended up sleeping the opposite way round just to get a bit more breeze!
Food-wise, we were happy. There was a basic variety—nothing overly fancy, but it covered all the basics well. The location is a real win too—just a five-minute walk to the tram and four minutes to the train station, which made getting around Istanbul super easy.
We booked three rooms for our family of six, and the setup worked perfectly. The AC itself worked well (and was very much needed with the heat!), and all the facilities—from the lifts to the lobby—were in great working order. I also appreciated the complimentary sewing kit in the room—a thoughtful and practical little touch you don’t see often!
One thing to flag: some of the additional services can be a bit pricey. For example, mobile SIM card is $60, which you could get elsewhere for less. I had an e-sim anyways but was shocked by the price. I hope no one pays that much! I also wish they included a few more complimentary extras like iced drinks or even omelettes at breakfast, which came at an extra cost.
Overall though, I’d absolutely recommend this hotel—especially for families. I’d 100% stay again on my next trip to Istanbul. It was a beautiful stay in every way...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel in April for 5 days. It’s a really nice hotel. Went for a slightly bigger room which was a duplex - this was really comfortable for 2 adults and child. Felt less claustrophobic- this can sometimes be the case in smaller city hotels. There was ample space and I would definitely recommend paying a bit extra and getting this room if you like your space or you have a child with you. Welcome was really nice - even though it is a small hotel - the staff are really kind and hard working . On arrival we were greeted with some Turkish apple tea and a Turkish delight piece . Breakfast on the roof terrace was fine. You can’t compare it to a fancy buffet at a 5 star hotel- but it had oats, scrambled eggs, salad , cheese, yoghurt, Simit (Turkish bread ), cereals, jam and honey — coffee and teas. I brought my own tea bags and used these but overall there was a good selection that was quite healthy . Freshly squeezed orange juice was available for extra costs and I think a different type of egg was available at extra costs- but to be honest unless you are really particular then it is more than enough. It really set me up for the day and I didn’t need to eat until 2-3pm. The breakfast was from 8am to 10.30am. The area is ok- not the nicest area but so close to the blue mosque and grand bazaar. Really nice in the evenings as you can walk to the shops which are open late. I wouldn’t advise buying the Turkish delight and things near the hotel as they are way more expensive than other places (if you can take a ferry to the Asian side then things seem considerably cheaper - dried fruit and Turkish delight etc) hafeez mustafa was tihin walking distance and nice after dinner for coffee and desserts if you like that kind of thing. There is a simple local restaurant which serves nice food and it’s cheap and they are honest . We went there around 3 times as it was so close and tasty . Nusrt salt bae restaurant is also in walking distance - it isn’t too expensive compared to in London (where we are from ) and they do nice burgers which I thought were reasonable - (£50 gbp for 2 adults and a child ) All in all if you are staying in Istanbul and don’t want to spend loads on a hotel but want a decent standard nice boutique style hotel that is near sultanahmet , blue mosque , grand bazaar, Hagia Sophia etc - then look no further . I would definitely recommend it . If I come back then I...
