Decent food spot—not mind-blowing, but it did the job for a casual lunch. It has the feel of a local diner-style place, tucked away in a tourist-accessible area. We were curious to try it out since we wanted to sample some local-style Turkish food.
The food was okay overall. I got the adana kebab , which had a bit of heat—not super spicy, but enough to keep things interesting. My sister had the doner burger, which unfortunately was on the dry side. The pide looked incredible and honestly was the standout item visually—we were tempted, but way too full to add it to the order.
The vibe inside is pretty basic—nothing fancy, very informal. That’s fine, but the service had a small hiccup: we were only given a total bill without an itemised receipt. When you’re a group of six people ordering different meals and drinks, that kind of thing matters. We had no real way of knowing if we’d been overcharged or if any mix-ups occurred with our order. A little frustrating, to say the least.
The total came to $45 USD, which felt a bit steep given the laid-back, no-frills setup. Especially because in the same area, there are nicer-looking restaurants—better ambience, more polished food—for roughly the same price. So if you're in the area and want something quick and casual, it works. But if you’re after something with more atmosphere, can definitely worth exploring nearby options.
In short: it filled the need for food, but nothing stood out enough to make me rush back. The food was decent, not outstanding, and while it wasn’t a bad experience, it’s not one I’d go out of my...
Read moreThis place looked nice because it's a little bit more hidden away from the tourist places, but unfortunately the food and service were horrible. When I asked for soup they said they don't have any, then the next customer got soup right in front of me. Their meat was very weird looking and tasted horrible, and right after we left both of us felt very sick from their meat. They asked if we want onions in the salad, we said yes and they brought it without onions. The food was cold too....
Read moreInflation has spiked restaurant food prices significantly in Istanbul. Stumbled upon this place near our hotel. A non-touristy dine-in, located in a non-descript side street that caters to the local populace too. Nothing fancy but has the whole spread of kebabs one would look to try out. Reasonably priced, wonderful food, fast and courteous service. Went multiple times. Had lunch and packed food for the flight home too ! Big shout out to Ahmed - a...
